Steak is another story though. However even with the chicken I eat it with something else so my one meal you have to add lettuce and a wrap and that brings it up to a little over $2. However like I had said earlier you can get huge, lean, or maintain with majority coming from a shake. You can also do it with real food, evan centropani is a big protien from food advocate. But majority of Pro's from what Ive heard are more likely to slam down 80g of a shake and then a shit ton of junk food with it.
I don't really think of protein shakes as a "meal replacement" though. If you add in the entire cost of a meal compared to a protein shake, I can see the food being more.
As far as the pro's go, I would imagine they would have to drink shakes because of the large amount of calories they are taking in. With my lower calories, 2600 at the highest, I could do it either way really. It is a lot easier to use the shakes, so I may just stick with them. I have been doing a zig zag style diet the last month and have lost weight but I am getting tired of weighing out my stuff and counting every calorie so I may experiment a little with my own way of doing things without weighing and what not. If I do, I will keep the protein shakes in there too so that's the reason for all of my questions.
Where do you guys get your protein?
