What do you guys use for heartburn relief? It's been prob 5 or 6 years since I've had heartburn and I've had it for a solid 2 weeks straight now. Its really pissing me off. I used Prilosec otc back then but want to see if you guys know something that works faster or better.

Aloe vera juice helps mine sometimes. I just bought Prevacid and it helped also.

Well Prevacid just became available for otc. The dosage was a 15mg pill but when I had a script, it was 30mg. I take 2 of the otc ones. I have never tried prilosec. Sometimes good ole baking soda helps too. I am going through a bout right now and it sucks. I get more reflux than heartburn and I get a nasty taste in my mouth.

The proton pump inhibitors (prilosec) work the best for 95% of people.
Does 20mg not fully work for you or do you take it once in a while due to cost (like most without a script).

Any OTC with omeprazole and magnesium together work for me. I have to have the magnesium or it does not work. I but the cheap gen and it works

Give it a go. You will be happy.
For severe problems or in cases of ulcers, 40mg a day is prescribed for 6 to 10 weeks to help heal any erosion that has occured.
