A debate requires facts, so far, you've only shared opinions. While opinions and emperical evidence is useful, facts are much more relevent.

All commerical weight gainers are a joke. Prove this incorrect. Prove why Beverly's mass gainer is not a joke and would be a better choice over something made at home.

      Cool I agree with YellowJacket..

I love Beverly products and feel they are worth the high tarrif, but the best weight gainer out there is still a weight gainer...and I consider weight gainers and protein bars all JUNK!

One double scoop serving of Beverly Mass Maker contains 40 grams protein, and 86 grams carbs, but only lists 4 of those gms carbs as sugar. The rest are simply maltodextrin. Malto is 130 on the GI scale. It's considered a complex carb but has a higher spike than Dextrose, and acts just like sugar in the body.

The sugars in a weight-gainer far outweigh the protein, even in Mass Maker and there are way too many high gi carbs to make it even a viable post-workout protein.

All in all the nutrition breakdown is terrible no matter what goal you want. Sorry if its harsh but I see too many people following this type of nutrition and it will get you bigger, all over.

All food barring post-workout should be of some nutritional value. Maltodextrin and rice extract provide nothing more than a rollercoaster ride of fluctuating glucose levels. If you don't want to make your own nutritious gainer, (and YJ has an excellent recipe for one) just eat a lot of high quality whole food carbs and the weight will come.

Sorry Rado but YJ & Benz are correct. If you want to use a high gi sugar filled gainer than so be it, but it definitely is not a better choice whether you are talking about price, quality, or health.
