They are loaded with maltodextrin, a simple carb that will give you type 2 diabetes if you arent careful (ok, its harder than that to get, but you know what Im saying).... so I suggest making your own, high calorie, high protein, moderate carb moderate fat homemade weight gainer. Very cheap and tastes awesome, try this:
15oz Milk
2 scoops whey powder
2 scoops natural peanut butter
2 tablespoons flax oil
1/3 cup crushed oatmeal
1 banana (if you'd like)
*if using vanilla protein powder, add natural vanilla extract for a better taste.
If you want more complex carbs, add more oatmeal, if you want it slower digesting, add cottage cheese. Give it a try...
