TweetI like whatever my wife buys, which is usually Granny Smith.

Tweetfuji are great. my go to. love honey crisp too, they are a desert for sure but taste so good.
TweetYes, there are a lot of different apples. The best tasting apples are never sold in stores because they have a very short shelf life. You almost have to eat them right off the tree or they start rotting. The apples sold in stores are apples that have a shelf life of about a month or 2. Red delicious have the longest shelf life of all and are actually very low rated for taste. I hate red delicious apples. They suck. I had a red delicious tree that I dug up and threw away. The apples were terrible.
I have 30 apple trees and about 15 different types. I have fuji, honey crisp, gala, zestar, pink lady, Liberty, Red Baron, etc etc
Sweet Tango apples are by far the best tasting apples that you can buy in stores. They are seasonal and are not always available. If you ever ate sweet tango, you know what I mean. I always look for sweet tango first, if they dont have them, I grab Honeycrisp
TweetThe Apple that is almost always rated #1 for taste is the Cox Orange Pippin apple. Thats the apple that all other apples are compared to. You can find them at farmers markets but never at stores because they only have a 1 week shelf life. If you ever see a cox orange pippin apple then buy them.
I planted 2 of these apple trees and have yet to get any apples. I probably wont have any cox orange pippin apples for another 2 or 3 years. The best time to plant an apple tree is 7 years ago lol
TweetYes, Im happy to answer all your apple questions LOL
Yes, you gotta get some sweetangos! They are amazing
Tweet
