Tweeti put alcohol on it right after I am done. stings at first but helps. non-mentholated shaving cream also helps after the alcohol. (use 70% isopropyl, not 90%)
TweetStarted shaving arms and chest again and got the worst razor burn. Wow!! It's absolutely miserable. Anyone have any remedies, or good products that help? Also anything that will help prevent it?

Tweetgood sharp razors always win when shaving. I do use witch hazel after to sooth and get the oils out. alcohol is a bit ruff after shaving for myself how ever does have its place
TweetWitch hazel is what people like to use for that stuff. I dont know who or what Witch Hazel is. Sounds like a girl I used to date
Tweetwitch hazel kicks ass..lol you can find it in any cvs, walgreens, or target right near the alcohol and hydrogen peroxcide . its great for acne too. basically cleans the dirt out the pores good. been using it for years
TweetFirst; did you shave with or against the grain of hair growth? If the hair is long clip it first with electric razor then shave with the grain. (down toward your wrist). Witch Hazel is best at first to cut the razor burn. Scrub it in the shower every day and apply Witch hazel after. About 86Cents at wal-mart.
TweetI always shave with a sensitive skin lotion. Works wonders for me. No redness...bumps...nothing
TweetLooks like I'll be getting some witch hazel. It's a bit better today, but damn it was miserable that first day. Probably could have been my razor too. I used the same razor I use to shave my face, so I'm sure that didn't help. I trimmed the hair down with some clippers beforehand, but I noticed as I was shaving that I missed some spots so that probably didn't help either.
I used to shave my arms and chest all the time and only get a couple bumps here and there, but it's been so long I felt like a complete novice lol.
TweetTend Skin is pretty good
TweetThe best thing about getting old: No more zits
TweetWell I solved part of the problem. Went and bought some women's razors and..... Wow! What a difference. Much better suited for shaving your body vs. shaving your face. Much more durable lubricating strip and guards on the front and back to protect your skin. It was like shaving with a piece of cotton it was so gentle. I kept having to check to make sure I was actually shaving the hair. I'll defintely keep my regular razors for my face, but for the body... I'm using women's razors lol.
TweetMan I found the best razors, they are 5 blade and last forever. Expensive as hell but three usually last me a month. The lubricating strip is the important part.

Tweeti have used the sheik 3 blade disposables with the green and black handles for years. that is the only razor i have found in both regular and disposables that doesnt wreck my face or whatever i am shaving. wife uses them as well
