No one likes to hear this answer but some time off from stimulants is what you need. It does not have to be a very long time a week should do but very little to no caffeine at all. Caffeine is all that's truly effective in our pre work. There might be a couple things in there but caffeine is the major player. Switching from one stim to the next will not lower your tolerance. It's like swithing from rum to vodka, your still gonna get pretty close to the same amount of drunk if you take 7 shots. So take a week off and you will be amazed.

Also limit your caffeine intake period. I usually only have two caffeinated drinks a day. One in the morning and my pre workout. If your drinking caffeine all day your pre workout is not gonna feel nearly as good. Try to let it cycle out of your system.

I love a good pre W/O and coffee is essentially a pre W/O but without all the other crap thrown in. I would probably do the same guns if I could stand the taste of coffee. You have it right though in the fact that your only caffeine is prior to your workout. You get that first caffeine rush of the day and in 24 hrs it's mostly if not all out of your system. If I could cut my morning energy drink out and just do one pre W/O it would be ideal. However, as I write this I am enjoying my caffeine rush and not sure I want to live life without my morning boost.

something i like to do when i am training like you are is i normally do a little am fasted cardio. so i will have a good strong cup or a double shot of espresso about 10 mins prior to cardio. then i will have the other half pre workout. now when i am getting closer to show time and i am feeling run down a bit more i may toss in a good pre workout at that time but i have to get ones that have no sugars/carbs and other crap in them. i would rather eat my numbers than drink them when possible haha. i guess i am lucky because i have and always will be super sensitive to any and all stims.

something i just came across the other day actually is this:

      TeaCrine (Theacrine Powder)

Theacrine (Teacrine®) functions as a stimulant without the side effects commonly associated with caffeine. Theacrine increases energy, focus, motivation, and exercise endurance. Teacrine® also functions as an antioxidant which in turn promotes faster recovery and improved immune system function.

this stuff is in the new intra md low carb formula

I hadnt taken a preworkout for probably five years, id pop a nodoze before i walked in but my last cycle i didnt need anything. Now im on noXplode and it gets me really focused and ive got crazy endurance too. I take it at 8PM and i have no issues sleeping.

Your body just needs a break from it for awhile. TNE is great if youre on cycle!

yep, tolerance builds up quick and it's good for the body/mind to take a bit of stim break once in awhile, though i still need my morning cup of coffee

Try some 100% Pomegranate juice. lots of benes and good pre workout. Pure juices can be a bit tart so you can always add water. Trying to find an article I posted on this a few years ago. When I do I will bump it for you to read. When buying juices go for pue, no added sugars or substitutes

i also like making my own pre-workout from time to time as i have some bags of dmaa and synephrine lying around. i'd like to pick up some amp citrate too, but it's hard to find now. i should pick up some more agmatine too. i always use bcaa/cop intra-workout. that's my go-to. i don't like taking creatine mono pre-workout because it makes me have to pee almost constantly lol

not knocking on you bossman at all but do you and these other guys here know that dmaa is a vasoconstrictor? not a dialator(sp) like we want in our preworkouts but it actually constricts and reduces blood flow. i didnt know it either until i read in a hay rambod column about it. then i went and look at some stuff and sure enough it is. it is a good stim but i would go with a different stim personally

yea, i'm aware of that. i don't take it very often pre-workout. i take it at wok sometimes on days when i'm dragging in the afternoon, or even in the morning if i didn't sleep well. i'm curious if other stims act as vasoconstrictors too? i assumed they all did.
