TweetI agree 100%. I'm trying to do this with just about eveything. Grassfed beef, eggs from free range chickens, etc... I feel like I can certainly tell a difference.
TweetI bought some the other day at Trader Joes and made up some burgers on my new grill last night! WOWZY! the burgers were so good. It is worth the extra money to me to buy it.

Tweetour trader joe's is about an hour away and they have the best prices on organic meats. i love some organic grass fed also esp considering the nutrition profile and fat content is so much better for you. the down side for me is the amounts i eat are not feasible on my budget. so for me it is a special occasion deal and only when we are around tj's to pick it up.
now grass fed butter is a staple since i found it close by. and free range eggs w/added omegas i eat every day

Tweetthat stuff is the best. my father in law several years ago bought a calf. raised it in his back yard (6 acres) and had it slaughtered in the following spring. still young but super tender. some of the best meat I have ever had. we have talked about doing it again but raising them for a few years but I do not thing he cares for the work involved and that is why he did not let this one get bigger.
TweetWhen I lived in Kansas, I use to purchase a half side of grass-fed beef every year. On average it costs about $1200-$1300, which included processing. This brought the cost per pound to about $3.75-$3.99. Unfortunately, I don't have access to that kind of quality and price anymore, because we moved and finding beef at those rates in the Northeast is impossible!
Tweetbefore my butcher shut down 2 years ago, i could get a half a cow processed however i wanted and prepped for about 450 bucks man. sometimes it would jump to closer to 600 but most of the time 450-550. those were the days when 4-6lbs of good beef were in my diet daily

TweetSo the grass fed beef in a store is just the same meat as buying a cow from a small farm where they just feed them hay correct?

TweetAre you phucking kidding me?!?!?! Holy smokes, that's dirt cheap! I WISH!!! Now, I can't find grass-fed ground beef cheaper than $8-10 per pound! I think the cows are getting 401K and 529 plans! It's ridiculous the price of beef these days -- especially grass-fed.
TweetI try to eat that also my store was running a sale on bison also I really enjoyed that.
TweetI bought a quarter of a cow a few months ago, I love having the meat all the time, it tastes better and the health benefits are great
