      Who buys organic?
I buy organic and feel it is worth the extra cost, and it usually isn't that much more. Now I don't buy everything organic but I do but the things listed on the most recent "dirty Dozen" of foods that should be bought Organic.

Most feedback I get when talking to people I know is the cost of it. Now this is my take on it...it is all about priorities. People will spend hundreds a month on things such as cell phones, or coffees, and other daily things they believe are "necessities".. Even on supplements. Where as if we ate the things we should...we would not need so many supps. I am a firm believer in getting what I need from nutrition but what led me there was the sudden change of being allergic to so much.

I try to limit the amount of chemicals I can also, in hair care products, household cleaners etc.

Saw this this morning and found it to be quite true.

I try and get a lot of my veggies organic or at least non gmo. I don't drink milk but have coconut and almond milks that are non GMO.

With eggs I try to get cage free.

I know it may sound like that but it is about what is good for my family and I, especially my daughter. I am just not fond of chemically laden things so if that means I am a hippie, oh well. A conservative republican hippie...that's a new one,lol

We buy organic as much as we can. My wife is a total hippie so she is big on this. Especially when it comes to our kids, we are big on making sure we use and give them organic stuff. To me it might be more expensive but I cant put a price on my kids health. We use organic cleaning supplies, detergent, shampoo, deodorant, things like that. And I make soap with things like essential oils and goats milk at home.

We really turned to organic stuff after my dad died of cancer. He did everything right in life.... No drinking, no smoking, ate a very clean diet, no artificial sweetners, worked out everyday. He did everything right except he didn't eat organic. After that I started reading up on the topic. Not saying it caused the cancer because who knows. But def changed my outlook on the topic.

I am kinda on the fence with "organic" products. Being in the chemistry field and understanding truly what "organic" means is kind of a broad term. Even "organics" can be harmful if ingested. I have worked in lab with plenty of harmful organic compounds. I feel that the food industry abuses this word in trade for selling a product. I am willing to bet that there are plenty of "organic" pesticides used that still aren't healthy for humans. There are always ways around new fads to trick the consumer. Just remember that purchasing food is a money driven machine that only cares about profit margin, so if "organic" is slapped on the front of the box and sells 10 more products a day then the normal version and isn't much better then the synthetic version or possibly maybe worse for you is a huge possibility and reality.

I am not one thinks organic means absolutely no chemicals...unless you are growing your own. However, I do believe you are subject to a less amount when true organic

I have two properties. One is in a subdivision and one is on 10 acres where my husband grows all our vegetables. ( he grew up on a farm) so I know our vegetables are organic. He cans them for the winter, I don't know jack shit about that. Remember, he is Mr. Mom so he spends days body building and training for our biannual 24 hour mountain bike races and caring for our 12 yr old daughter. He is the default babysitter for all our friends whose parents both work so I come home to a house full of kids most nights. OUr neighbor across the street has grass fed cows and bee hives. We make sure my daughter drinks organic milk. By default, all my friend's kids eat organic when they stay over for dinner. As Rocky stated, "Organic" can mean many things depending on where you get the products....

I am considering buying half a cow. It'll be expensive for sure but I had a birthday in early August and my wife got me a bunch of meat from the butcher shop and it's sooooooo good. My uncle used to have a hog farm so I grew up on a lot of meat straight from the butcher shop and forgot how much better it is. I would shop at whole foods exclusively if i could afford it!
      Respectfully,
      9mm

Eventually, if there isn't deep integrity and fundamental character strength, the challenges of life will cause true motives to surface and human relationship failure will replace short-term success.

There is an idea of who I am: some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me; only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel my flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.
