TweetI like the thin mint girl scout cookies
TweetI have a good amount of protein still stocked up and I try to make myself use everything I have before I start buying more and letting stuff age. I did make an exception to try out the new Thin Mint flavor of Yo-Whey protein, though.
I got it in late last week and right from the very start, it was an excellent experience. When I tore the top of the bag and opened the seal, I immediately smelled an open box of thin mint cookies. I mean dead on. I was at work, so I didn't have milk. Mixed 2 scoops with water and it mixed up quickly and without any clumping whatsoever.
It tasted phenomenal.
The next morning, I mixed up 2 scoops in my ProMixx blender with milk (1%) and once again, it tasted great. It may have actually even tasted a little better in water as odd as that sounds. The one with milk wasn't bad at all and mixed up very smooth and even, too, but it was awesome that it tastes just as refreshing in water.
I'm really looking forward to experimenting with doing some baking with this protein. I'm imagining some fantastic high protein thin mint chocolate brownies and things of that nature.
Bottom line is definitely grab this. You won't be disappointed if you like chocolate and/or mint. And FYI, the mint is just the right amount. My wife had some and that's what she commented on. She said she wouldn't want it any mintier than what it is, so she was thrilled with it, too.

Tweetsounds great need to get the wife some
TweetThe only time I ever have girl scout cookies is when (inevitably, Every. Single. Year.) someone brings them into work. That said, I do enjoy thin mint. And I was in disbelief at how much the powder just smelled like them.
My wife hit the gym yesterday morning and treated herself to a shake when she got home. She also just signed up for the bootcamp that they're running at our gym, too. Makes me so excited. I love training her and love when she lifts. They've been doing the bootcamp classes for free so far and starting in Feb, they've got it for $20/month extra. That's for 8 sessions, though. So $2.50 per session. Well worth it, IMO. I still can train her and develop workout plans for her solo stuff and twice a week she's doing that and we're not paying an outside trainer.
A little off topic, but anywho.
But the thing to be cautious of here is there is still some sugar in each scoop (and some fat, but I'm less concerned with that). So I treat this as more of a MRP option and for my wife, I told her to make sure only use this one when she's had a good/hard workout day. We have other protein around with close to no sugar that gets used more often.
Point is, every once in a while, you just need to let the wife say...
TweetThe worst thing about girl scout cookies for me is that one is never enough and I dont feel right unless I eat the entire box
Tweetlol you didn't even need to clarify that -- I just thought it was implied.
If you're not giving me at least an entire sleeve, don't even bother.
Tweetyeah man the sugar content is a tad bit high but their are a couple ways one could offset that. 1-use during bulking lol 2- add in some fiber of at least 13 or more grams to pull the sugar out and offset it 3- use it as a preworkout or postworkout shake to maximize the insulin spike. just tossing out a couple remedies to get rid of that nasty sugar

TweetGood call. Definitely a few scenarios to use it.
I basically just treat it as a meal replacement when my macros allow for it (e.g. I'll watch other carbs to leave room for it). 2 scoops yields 26g, but it's still way better than a candy bar. And even some of the greek yogurts have almost that much in them. However, I'll have to try this and see if it's good, but some of the plain greek yogurts have almost no sugar in them. Mixing in a scoop or two of thin mint with plain greek yogurt should make a nice little tasty paste.
TweetI did that with a chocolate egg protein and it was really good (and more filling than just drinking a shake).
TweetYes I use it pre/post if and when I do, it is a great flavor, my little girl likes 1/2 scoop in almond milk before her karate classes, she likes to mix it in her pink ProMixx blender
