TweetAs always, here are my thoughts on this week’s sale items (a little later than usual thanks to Winter Storm Thor):
Muscle Research Yo-Whey ($5 off):
I cannot say enough about this protein. You’ve got a great variety of flavors to start out with (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pumpkin spice, and thin mint). When I received my first bag of the thin mint flavor, I opened it up and it was dead on to the smell of the girl scout cookies. I was at work so I didn’t have milk, but I wasn’t about to wait. I mixed it with water and let me tell you, it was delicious. I tried it later at home with milk and it was just as good. I almost prefer it with water. What I’m dying to do is get some fat free, no sugar added ice cream and mix it up in the blender and maybe chop up a Quest bar to add it in and make it like my own milkshake. Seriously, it’s that good. I can’t wait to bust out the pumpkin spice come Fall time (I’m weird and could drink it now, but just wouldn’t enjoy it lol). At this price, you’re getting a premium blend protein (with added benefit of probiotics via the yogurt powder) with amazing flavor, shipped to your door for $25. You don’t have to plan out 3 months’ worth of orders to make it worthwhile to cover shipping like you do with some other places (I remember those days) and nor do you have to worry about adding protein to your order and seeing your shipping jump from a reasonable 6 bucks to 15. It’s free shipping. So keep that in mind when you think this price seems high compared to others out there. This is totally worth it and one of the best proteins I’ve ever had (right up there with Trutein).
VPX mTORC1 ($5 off):
I swear I’ve done a write-up on this one before, but can’t find it for the life of me. So looking at the label and ingredients with new eyes, this is what I’ve got. Some of this is prop. blended but a lot isn’t and allows you to tell for the most part what you’re getting. One serving is just shy of 9g. Of that, we know that 1.5g is leucine and another 1.5g isoleucine. You’ve got 1g of HICA, which is a solid add. And then 750mg of valine. You’ve got 500mg COP, and a 250mg blend of caffeine and theacrine (I’d assume right around 200mg caffeine). Those numbers leave us with about 3.2g left to account for. 2.5g of that is from the CREmTOR Matrix which has creatine monohydrate and your leucine peptides (the unique part of this formula). So we’ve got about 750mg left over that add up to our MCT’s and trisodium phosphate dodecahydrate. All in all, I’d say it’s at least worth a shot. I like VPX’s Power Shock and I use their Medivin as my multi. They’re a good company and this may be a winner. It’s definitely unique, but the things we know we’re getting (nearly 4g BCAAs and 1g HICA + the caffeine) is enough to say it at least won’t be a terrible product. Worth a roll of the dice and why not when it’s on sale.
NLA Uplift ($5 off):
Okay, so you know me and prop. blends don’t see eye to eye lol. That’s the first thing I notice. Beyond that, though, you’re at least getting broken down matrices to make the guesswork of how much is in there a little less difficult (remember, the items listed first have the highest amount). You’re getting beta alanine and your BCAAs, and some agmatine there, as well. You’ve got caffeine, tyrosine, choline and norco all in there. And you’ve got DMAE and vinpocetine on the nootropic side. All in all, it should provide some nice focus and energy. Don’t see it as a huge pump product, but does have enough to cover some NO synthesis/pathway activation. The flavor sounds on point with raspberry lemonade and this seems like a worthwhile try if you’re shopping as a newcomer to supplements and are female or are looking for a product for a female friend, client, family member that should work well without a huge risk of side effects. Also worth mentioning is that it’s 40 servings and not just 30; so you’re averaging only 75 cents per scoop with this sale. Plus, there are some pretty nice flavor options with cherry limeade, raspberry lemonade, and guava passion. Solid pickup.
Premium Powders ALCAR ($10 off):
ALCAR and all carnitines are very important and great products to have on hand. It has a plethora of benefits from mental to fat loss. I’m not using a straight ALCAR product at the moment as I get it via some other nootropic products and get plenty of LCLT in via my pre and intra-workout choices. But this is something I do have plenty of stock in my cupboard of. Very solid product and this is a great price. Also, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you haven’t bought any Premium Powders bulk products, you’re missing out. They are the perfect size. There’s enough in there that you’re not always running out (thinking back to the old NP 100g or SP 50g tubs lol), but they still take up very little valuable cabinet space.
eFlow Nutrition eNcinerate ($5 off):
As you all know, I’m not a fan of prop. blends. That said, there are at least some decent ingredients in this one: caffeine, NAT, green tea extract, RKs, etc. It looks like it should provide some thermogenesis and be a fat-burner with some diuretic effects, as well. At the standard dosing of 2 caps/day, you’re getting a full month of this, but if you go up to the 3 that they say you can, you’ll want to pick up a 2nd bottle to get a good 6 weeks out of it.
Tweetmy vote for pick of the week goes for the yo whey.I've tried the strawberry and loved it its good in water and in milk if your going to pick something up during the sale I would pick this up
