Day 9
Feb 23
Weight: 259.6 lbs.
PM dose ~265mg DNP
Day 10
Feb 24
Weight: 259.2 lbs.
Hit heavy chest session last night and it was the first time in a long time that I had a down day. For the past 2 heavy sessions, my bench was something like:
315x6 (easy -- felt like 225)
345x5-6 (first few pretty easy and maybe a spot on last rep)
355x4-5 (definitely difficult; 3 reps struggling by myself and help on 1 or 2)
Last night it was:
315x6 (not easy)
335x5 (spot on last rep and also a struggle)
325x5 (same as 335)
My buddy who was spotting me said the bar was bent and that was the problem (said that before the final set, btw). He asked if it was the same bar on the bench as when I got there and that's when he confirmed it. So he kept saying that was the cause; I thought 315 didn't feel easy and feared it may be a slight loss of strength. I'd love for him to be right, but I don't count on it.
I managed to keep the rest of my lifts on par with where they were. No increases, but held steady, so that's good.
Tonight will be heavy back session and as long as I've got a belt to use I'll be doing DL's. I really hope there is, but if there's not, I'm not risking injury.
Posted this for Midwest Beast so he can continue his log her with us all at FG to follow along
Wow! Thanks, Baby1! Very kind of you.
The progress thus far has been much more and much quicker than I was anticipating. This isn't a quick or short-term cut for me. This is a "for the rest of my life" thing, now. So the sooner the better, sure. But not at the risk of curbing the long-term picture. I'll pull my old log from 2013 sometime and find my notes to see how high I ran it, but I got up to ~400-450mg/day for a bit and that was the highest I went. But to be honest, even at 200mg back then, the sides were terrible compared to now at the same dose. I'm still getting the fat loss, but not drenched 24/7 (which is why the progress is so quick -- because I was only planning on 3x/week dosing to keep sides away and allow me a long-term solution for fat loss).
I try to avoid sugar in general and I've actually been logging my food in fitday again so I can make sure I keep my macros where they need to be and my protein is high enough.
Capping/mixing it with ALCAR is amazing. It could just be that my body is used to it from before, but I'm guessing it's the ALCAR. The diminished sides have made this a way I can actually live a normal life in terms of my progress. Previously, my decision was if I wanted to lose weight, I had to be miserable, sweat all the time and obviously not have the social life or anything else I wanted. This changes things. This allows me to cut like a normal person would and still have my life.
There's a part of me that wants to be single digit bf% in 2 months, sure. But the more realistic part of me wants to hold steady at this moderate dosing and even if I lose 5 pounds a month, that would still be 60 in a year. And that's fine by me. I don't NEED that quick transformation. I just want to be able to lower the dose very low or dose maybe 2-3 days/week once I reach the bf% I want to be at so I can actually live like a normal bodybuilder. And not have to say, "welp, too bad -- guess I'll get fat again; whether it's over the course of 2 months or 2 years." Because that's what happens without DNP. I can maintain pretty well if I'm SUPER cautious of my diet; but I can't lose. Not at all.
haha you misunderstood what i was saying mwb. their is no need to be completely miserable while using dnp. what i was saying was you build it up in your system and then just cruise with it. you can go low dose for long periods of time with almost the same effect but you have to endure the side effects for longer lol. as far as i know your body never adapts to dnp and you can pretty much run it for as long as you would like to as long as you keep all the internals clean. something he told me also is that if you arent sweating when you are consuming carbs for at least a little bit then it's time to take a little bit off. that is for getting ready for show prep because we dont increase carbs during the process all that often. so for you if you arent sweating when taking carbs in then you need to up them a touch until you get heat. it should only last for 30-60 mins after you consume them though
Isnt thay stuff really bad for you??
Day 11
Feb. 25
Weight: 259.0 lbs.
Based on the extensive research I did before ever taking it back in 2013, it's dangerous if misused/abused, but isn't "bad for you." I get regular blood work done to check lipids and vitals, etc., and saw nothing out of the ordinary while on or after taking for 6 months near continuous.
Again, I highly recommend anything else if you don't have to use it. Just turns out that this is literally the only thing that allows my body to lose weight save for a few pounds of water/glycogen shifting up and down on a day-to-day basis.
I usually edit my post and add in the DNP dose, since it's before bed and I don't have it pre-set as to what it'll be; so the emphasis is added to the above to show last night's dosing.
Last night was an off night and my only true off day (Sunday is, too, but I play basketball for a couple hours).
Tuesday I hit my heavy back session and led with deadlifts and managed to have a belt this time, so hit 405x5 for my 2 final sets, which was nice.
That wrapped up the end of my A Week (Max-OT style) and today will be arms and I'm pretty sure it's my high intensity week.
Day 12
Feb 26
Weight: 260.2 lbs.
Day 13
Feb. 27
Weight: 261.2 lbs.
I know it's a slow, long process, but I have to admit; after those first several days and going down so quickly, I got spoiled. It's hard enough to see the scale stick, but when it climbs up a bit, that's when the mind games start. But I'll just stick to the plan. I've been ravenous the past few days, but all I've been eating are lean meats and if I crave more, protein powders and Quest bars. Though I should still be well under 3k calories each day and am shooting around 2500 with 250+g protein right now.
I'm looking forward to basketball on Sunday since the day after is usually a good day at clearing some weight for me.
May add in extra cardio during the week for a bit, too (though it shouldn't be necessary).
Killed my arms workout last night and made increases on every single set (3 lifts for bi's and 3 for tri's, each 4x12). Finished the whole thing in 43 minutes. That's my favorite part about intensity weeks -- I'm not in the gym all that long. I'll have legs this afternoon.
dont sweat the small bumps mwb. chalk that up to water my friend.
Day 14
Feb 28
Weight: 261.8 lbs.
Afternoon dose ~200mg DNP
PM dose ~280mg DNP
Killed delts and traps today. Made increases on all lifts again and got some great cardio out of it.
Hoping to see the scale finally budge back down tomorrow lol.
Day 15
March 1
Weight: 259.4 lbs.
Afternoon dose ~240mg DNP
PM dose ~300mg DNP
So either I just need the increased dose of DNP or there isn't as much per cap as I'm calculating. My friend capped these since he has access to more resources for capping. He mixed them with ALCAR at a 2:1 ratio, but it's not a perfect method. So I weigh each cap, subtract the 83mg the cap itself weighs, divide that number by 3 and then multiply it by 2 to come up with the amount of DNP.
So in the meantime I'll be sticking with this higher amount until I notice an appearance of negative sides.
