Tweetwell, i'm going to disagree with mikey and say that it's fat, not water. you are definitely holding water, but when the bulge is around the lower abs and back (the problem area for most men and the last place the fat holds on for dear life) it is composed mostly of fat.
what was working for me (until i got sick and started eating loads of junk to make myself feel better lol) was eating clean )only 1-2 cheat meals a week) and cutting carbs after 4:30.
eliminating sugar entirely, except for dextrose in my PWO shake also made a big difference.
basically my "daytime" meals were protein and clean carbs, and starting at 4:30 i would go to protein and fats. even with cals in the 4000-4300 range i was losing fat, somewhere around 1-2 lbs. a week.
as for the water retention, i don't think you need a diuretic either. just eliminate most of the sodium from your diet and take your water up to 1.5- 2 gals a day.
vitamin C is a natural diuretic. 3 grams a day will flush out a small amoutn of water.
TweetThanks brutha... I cut my carbs by 1200 every day except on occasion - if I have hard leg or back workout - I'll go until 1430 with carbs but then it's only protein and fats... those areas you mentioned (low abs, back) are extremely resistant to any dieting manipulation on my part. It truly is the last to go and I have yet to experience it... I'll give the added vitamin C a go and report back within the next week. I've also incorporated a 4oz shot of apple cider vinegar in the evening to help...Originally Posted by Phreak

Tweet4oz! Holy shiat. I take 2 oz a day plus 3000mg of the apple cider vinager pills. I also just ordered some of this stuff called Stimulant X. Do a search on it, the reviews for it are really really good. I got some from a site for $24 for 90 caps and most do 2 caps a day some can handle 3-4. I'll let you guys know how it works.Originally Posted by Iron_Gook
