      Db split squat 50 x 2 x 10

Good workout today. Box squats are feeling good and I think I'm getting used to the sitting back feeling. Ex had me add in some grip work today too. It was a tough one...especially as hot as it is!

      Flat bench
      bar x 10
      135 x 8
      155 x 5
      185 x 3
      220 x 3,3,3

      Flat Db bench 70 x 7, 70 x 6

Well, I moved my bench up 5lbs. I struggled on the last set with that weight. I got them but butt came off the bench and just struggled....arms were shaking like crazy as usual too. But I did get it. It killed me on the rest though. I missed my reps on the next 3 lifts. But it was a good workout.

I felt like form was crap on bench today though. It seemed like I was really using my arms to push the weight up instead of my chest. I don't know what was up. I have been reading a lot about form and watching videos so I may have just been thinking about too much while doing it.

On a side note, my wife finally talked me into making a doctor's appointment for my knee. It has really improved that much and is really getting frustrating. I whine every time I get up out of the floor. It's not really serious feeling but it's really getting on my nerves. So we will see what the bone and joint guy says next week. Hopefully it's nothing and it's just being old that's making it take so long!! That and I haven't really given it any rest. I have just been taking ibuprofen and working through the workouts with my knee sleeves.

Well, the day started off pretty good but then I had some issues. On my last rep of zerchers, I got an intense pressure at the base of my skull that radiated throughout my entire head. It hurt so bad that squinting was the only way to keep my eyes open. I took a break for a few minutes and then moved to the next exercise, it immediately did it again, so I called it quits. I went back to the gym yesterday to finish up what I missed and the same thing happened. As the day went on yesterday, I had sinus pressure building up in my head. So the only thing I can think of is that I had sinus pressure and then the added pressure of strain and pushing it in my workout made the pressure unbearable. I will see Monday. I have been hitting the meds to try and knock it out.

The good news is that my knee has felt better this weekend than it has in a LONG time! I think the therapist is on to something.

No updates from last night. My physical therapist told me not to work through the pain in my knee and it was hurting today at work so I just decided to skip out tonight. I think the reason it was hurting was from the therapy today but still, pain is pain and tonight was leg night.

Just a small update. My original goal was to get to single digit body fat and then I worked out with some power lifting guys and got addicted. So I started doing a PL routine. Well, in talking with a trainer friend, we decided that it would be best to get to single digits as I had intended and then I can start throwing the calories down with worrying about getting fat. With the added calories, my strength will really go through the roof. So I am now back to a body building style routine to burn more fat. I am still hitting the gym, but the updates aren't anything spectacular. Low weight, higher reps, and the weight doesn't increase that often.

The diet has been less than desirable the past 2 weeks because of time constraints. My step son is playing football and I helping my cousin coach a flag football team on top of work and trying to get to the gym . I have also been having to study for a big test at work the past month. I barely have time to fix something to eat, much less cook what I am supposed to eat.

But I'm still getting it done!! Good news is that my abs are starting to show faintly and I am getting MUCH more vascular....so something is working

Alright guys, I am going to start using this SAD journal again after next week. I have a training class for work out of town next week and then I am back at it in BEASTMODE! I have a vacation in June and I won't be going to the beach as a fatty!

So as some of you may know, I recently had knee surgery that has taken me out of doing pretty much anything for a month or so. I have worked back up to getting back in my muay thai and boxing classes but still haven't gotten back to my BJJ as I think the knee needs a little more strength before going there.

I also lost some motivation to get in the gym after having to drop out of the Mr.Fitnessgeared contest. So, with that combination, I have gained my weight back. Well, my wife has started eating good and working out for our vacation, so now is the best time to get off my lazy ass and get back on track.

I am taking a different approach this time (mainly because the beach will be here soon) but I am going to change my routine to 1 day a week (full body) while training muay thai and boxing twice a week and bjj once a week (if I ever get back to it). Depending on how my shoulders and the rest of my body recover with this routine, I may add another day or two lifting but I want to run it this way to make sure my shoulders don't have issues. As many know, boxing and muay thai kill the shoulders alone, not to mention adding in weight lifting. I got this routine from a professional MMA guy that I know and it's what he uses. I think this will get me to the BF% I am looking for quicker than straight lifting. Once I reach that goal, it will be back to my PL goal.....I think!

Either way, updates will begin shortly!

Still here and have been super busy. I ran another contest on another board and did good. I have been busy training MMA, having family sickness, school, wife's school and new job, etc....

So my wife and I have entered a weight loss contest that runs for 10 weeks and the winner receives 1000.00. We started the diet for that this morning. I am going to run a "new to me" setup with a trainer friend and will get to experience something I have always been curious about. I won't get into details but I will post some updates. They will mainly be weight updates just to have a little record of the progress. I am going to start hitting the weights again in addition to my MMA training. The 1000.00 has me so motivated it's crazy!
