Tuesday
Bike Ride
It was a much nicer day out and I rode for longer than I have before. It was great except the way home I felt so worn that I didn't really do much and my chain came loose. Other than that it was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again since today seems like it's even nicer out. Only problem with riding during the week is a lot of businesses are open so going to them has a lot more cars in the way of me doing tricks or whatever I'm trying to do.

Bike Ride
I was a bit worn out yesterday and just felt sleeping but I hopped on the bike and rode around. The plan was to go to the local park and just ride around the basketball court doing hops and stuff but the park was taken. I did however end up doing 2 tricks I've been meaning to do, 1 was just jumping some stairs but there was always a car in the way and the other was a bit more scary but it wasn't so bad once I did it. I didn't venture far from the house, it was probably the warmest day of the week but it was pretty windy and I thought it could rain at anytime so I didn't go on any far adventures.
Today I might go to the gym if it rains, it's nice temperature wise outside but I feel like it's spitting rain so I'll have to check the weather channel before I leave work to help make my decision.

Bike Ride
To keep it with the theme of the week I went riding again. I actually felt good, better than the day before. I went to the park to try some flat tricks which is mostly just bunny hops and stuff. Spent sometime down there and had a good time, then I decided to ride around the town and had some fun, the same stairs I jumped down the day before I decided to jump up which felt good. The other trick I was happy about, I went back and did it a few times. So all in all it was a good session.
I'm somewhat missing the gym a bit but really enjoying the riding so next week I'll get back to the gym. Possibly Saturday but I have a wedding that's out of town.

Monday
Side lateral raise 4 sets
Reverse peck deck 4 sets
Peck deck 4 sets
Decline hammer strength 4 sets
EZ bar wide grip upright row superset w/ hammer strength press 4 sets
Jump rope superset w/ straight bar extension 4 sets
Jump rope superset w/ under hand straight bar extension 4 sets
Rope extension 1 set
Felt good to be back in the gym. Unfortunately my shoulder is still not great. I can go a day or two now without pain but every so often it pops back up. During the workout I def felt it but not to the extent I have the last month or so however today I can feel a dull pain from yesterdays workout. Also first time I jumped rope since the ankle injury and it hurt at first but seemed to loosen up as I went which was good, it is in pain a bit today and last night when I was sleeping so I have it in a compression sleeve just to be safe. All in all it was a good workout though.
I plan on squatting today but with the little bit of soreness in the ankle I'm going to be cautious and just increase weight in small amounts and if it hurts, abandon the squat and go try something else rather than pushing it.
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Tuesday
Squat 4 sets
Squat superset w/ pull up 3 sets
Pull up 3 sets
T bar row 4 sets
Leg press 4 sets
Rope pulldown 4 sets
Jump rope superset w/ DB curl 4 sets
Jump rope superset w/ BB curl 4 sets
Of all days for my neck to be hurting is the day I want to squat on my ankle for the first time. Still went to the gym and surprisingly after like 2 sets my neck cracked and released a lot of pressure. It still hurt a little but I think the bar was resting on the muscle that was tight and allowed it to loosen up a bit. Ankle felt a bit of pain as I got lower in the squat as well, mostly in the front of the ankle even though a majority of the time the pain in right behind the outter ball of my ankle. Other than that though the workout was better than I expected, especially after my neck cracked.
I noticed myself in the mirror yesterday. I looked bigger than a few weeks ago without any noticeable fat gain which I was happy about because Vector has made my hunger skyrocket and I feel like i'm even eating more than i'd like to be.
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Wednesday
Basketball
First game back on the court since I hurt my ankle which is also the first day after squatting for the first time in a month. My legs were sore and even foam rolling and stretching before the game was tough. Once I got going though basketball didn't feel that bad, I was a little ginger at first with the sore ankle but after a bit of time I was getting at a full sprint before realizing I was really moving like that. The worst part was between games when I'd cool down a bit and would have to get it loose again.
The last game however I either jumped and hurt it. I felt one specific jump when I landed and though, oh no but nothing to stop me but after that I was ready to be done playing, the last game I was pretty sore with my ankle. Today it's sore but it could of been worse I suppose. It felt great to be back on the floor, running around and getting quality cardio in.

Thursday
Bike Ride
I wanted to ride this week but wasn't sure how the weather or basketball was going to work. The weather was supposed to be warmer as the week went on but it didn't work out that way but whatever. I was super sore in my legs and my ankle felt some pain too. Anyway riding wasn't the greatest, it was colder than I would have liked but my whole body just felt sore and weak so I wasn't motivated to go as far or as big as I wanted to. I hung out at the local park for a bit which I made the best of and jumped over some things. Maybe I would of been better going to the gym but it wasn't all that bad. Riding, basketball, hitting my major muscles all in a week is a good week imo.
As it gets darker earlier at night now, the move might be to go to the gym during the week and possible use Saturday as a bike riding day as weather permits.

Back/Legs/Bi's
I don't like not having details for my workouts but it's kind of rough to remember 3 workouts when I don't have work on Monday and I'm not near a computer. Typing all of the workouts on a phone is crazy frustrating.
Anyway the workouts feel kind of normal again. Saturday morning I got there super early and it felt good to workout alone and not bothered again. Sunday I played ball, cardio was a bit weak or my ankle was still iffy. The game got started and I got winded early but recovered, however the whole day I felt like pushing off or being explosive on the injured ankle was delayed which was frustrating. Near the end of the game I landed on someones foot that hurt my ankle again but within 5 minutes it went away, I still had the ankle soreness afterwards though. Monday was a real good workout, used medicine balls for wall balls again and my ankle held up, actually the worst part was my left shoulder when I was catching the ball.
Sunday I play ball at my old gym, it's the nicest gym in the area but the membership is pricey. Anyway they have "magical" mirrors in the locker room and I really noticed them this week. I walked past and had to stop, the mirror made me look like I really put on some quality muscle which I was happy. Being out there playing ball with a bunch of skinny kids with no muscle and I walk past the mirror with what looked like a nicely rounded shoulder and big arms made me feel really good on my progress.

Tuesday
Side lateral raise 5 sets
Reverse peck deck 4 sets
Peck Deck 4 sets
Decline hammer strength 4 sets (last set a drop set)
Ladder run superset w/ v bar extension 3 sets
Step ups superset w/ underhand extension 3 sets
Rope extension 3 sets
Shoulder actually felt the best it has in awhile. Still a slight pain which had me hold off on the freeweights just yet but all the other movements felt really nice. I felt so good in the shoulder that I was moving at what felt like warp speed at the beginning. I probably should of given myself more time between sets but I just kept going with the momentum. I had a really strong upper body pump happening throughout the whole workout which felt great. I also forgot my jump rope in the car and it was too cold to go get it so I did some agility style work which I'm not complaining about, it's been awhile since I did and it was a new challenge. My ankle wasn't affected by it at all. My ankle felt really good until I did something in bed last night when I was moving that hurt it. Go figure impact on it didn't hurt but when in bed I aggravated the pain a bit.
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Wednesday
Cardio
Jump rope, walking treadmill, farmers walks
Wednesday is supposed to be my bball night but it's with my brothers people and he's out of town so I didn't try and get in touch with anyone who was playing. I went to the gym which was fine, I need to build up my endurance after Sunday anyway and I haven't got a good jump rope session in in awhile so that's what I did. It was a pretty good overall workout as I just kept moving. The one draw back was when I did trip up on the jump rope, I smacked myself in the back of the neck a few times with the rope and it stings. Its almost like if someone is joking around and smacks you in the back of the head, it doesn't hurt that bad but its kind of the shock plus the force they did it with that makes you mad. That's how the rope to the neck felt, twice I almost threw the rope just because it was a shock that it happened.
Anyway I was glad to get in a full cardio session. They are calling for a decent amount of snow today so we'll see if the gym happens tonight or not.
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Thursday
Shoveling
Usually i'm the maniac that goes to the gym in a snow storm whenever I get out of work. Not this time, just getting out of work onto the main road was nuts, so I figure I should go home because cars weren't moving or were on the side of the road. I got home and shoveled for a few hours. Then I went back out later at night. It wasn't too bad but it was time consuming, I joke that shoveling snow is like a free deadlift workout. I had to go back out this morning and shovel some more, so I'll take it as a substitute for missing the gym
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Saturday
DB curl superset w/ v bar extension 4 sets
BB curl superset w/ reverse rope extension 4 sets
DB hammer curl superset w/ underhand extension 4 sets
Kettlebell swings, ladder runs, farmers walks, jump rope etc
Fairly good workout, it's to a point now that where the gym is ice cold. I get there at 8am when they open and the owner refuses to heat the place overnight, even a little so I did most of the workout with a sleeveless hoodie with a hoodie on top. I was just trying to get warm. After a bit it wasn't too bad though and the place was empty so I was able to just do my thing and not be bothered. Pump in the arms was good but it was funny because my forearms were super sore going into the workout, I think it was from shoveling snow the 2 days prior.....then Sunday morning but triceps were sore.
Sunday
Basketball
I felt a lot better than last week on the ankle but still not 100%. I didn't feel sluggish pushing of on my foot to go into a full sprint. The only pain I felt was once I went up for a block and came down a little rough on it but after a few plays it was ok again. Just another good cardio session. And luckily we all agreed to play Thanksgiving morning since my gym is closed. I love working out Thanksgiving morning, probably from growing up and playing football Thanksgiving morning, then at my old gym Thanksgiving was a max day of sorts where everyone tried to powerlift a bit.
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Monday
Deadlift 5 sets
Straight bar pulldown 4 sets
Leg press 4 sets
Goblet box squats 3 sets
Leg extension 3 sets
Seated Leg curl 3 sets
Close grip lat pulldown 3 sets
Seated high cable CG row 5 sets
Never let someone clean your house for you. I keep my gym shoes near my back door and grab them before I leave each morning. Someone put them away on me so I got to the gym without my gym shoes. Luckily I keep a pair of basketball shoes in my car. Anyway the workout started good on the deadlifts and I got warm real quick. However the pair of shoes I keep in my car are super supportive of the ankles, there is a specific strap that goes around the ankle, only problem I have with them is it prevents ankle mobility so by the time I got done with the leg press my knee hurt. These are shoes that I messed my knee up in and I've read that limiting the ankles mobility could cause knee issues because then that the knee has to be more mobile and it's not jointed like that. Anyway when I got to the bottom of the leg press I could feel my ankles wanted to move and the shoe was preventing it and afterwards my knee hurt. The rest of the workout was good. I skipped doing the arm work just because I felt like I needed more back work instead of some bicep curls.
Maybe I'll skip arms until Saturday to focus more on the other muscles this week. We'll see
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Tuesday
Side lateral raise 4 sets
Reverse peck deck 4 sets
Peck Deck 4 sets
Decline hammer strength press 4 sets
Cable crossover superset w/ DB front raises 3 sets
Facepull 3 sets
Rope extension 3 sets
Beginning of the workout was no different than my normal chest and shoulders routine that I've been doing. It wasn't too bad, front shoulder was a little weird once again but my strength on the decline hammer strength was basically back to where it was before the shoulder injury so that's a good sign. I also don't usually do front raises, haven't done them in years, I'm totally against them. However, I used light weight and it was more so to feel if it hurt at all and I didn't experience any discomfort doing them. I went pretty slow just to be careful but to me it almost indicates that it's that it's not necessarily the front shoulder causing the issue.
Anyway everything is going well, I really think I'm starting to see some size gains. I need to weight myself but the mirror is showing a more filled out frame, not to much fat gain yet which I really like.
Re: Young Gotti's Journal
Wednesday
Cardio
Somewhat took it easy doing cardio because I knew I was playing basketball the next day. I mainly tried to just get in a good cardio session while working on getting my hips and other parts of my legs loose. Almost like a rehab style cardio.
Thursday
Basketball
Saturday

Sunday
Basketball
So much for trying to get everything loose on Wednesday. Playing on Thursday my ankle and knee was giving me major problems. I'd run a play either offense or defense and everything would hurt. I'd almost have to take a play or two off before I could full out sprint again. I had a rough go of it but I was happy to get in a good run that morning. I decided to take the next 2 days off after that to see if my leg could recover. I planned on taking Friday off because I enjoy the black Friday craziness usually. Saturday I ended up going out of town shopping. Both days I skipped the gym, I was still on my feet a lot, doing a lot of walking.
Sunday my leg felt better but my shot was terrible. Either I'm still rusty from the month off or my legs don't have that push I need to get the ball up because my shot felt flat and short a lot of the times. That's something I need to work on as I move forward. Luckily enough though my ankle and knee didn't bother me too much during the game.
