TweetSee if you can get one with TENS/EMS combo. A TENS with interferrential current would be a good type of EMS. TENS has no lasting therapeutic effect and only blocks pain when it is being used. EMS has therapeutic effects to speed the healing process besides blocking pain. Best if you can get a unit with both.
Make sure it is TENS with interferrential current. There are different types of EMS
