Tweeti am heading to Jamaica in 14 days. happy to be going, pissed because my training has been suffering badly the last few months. not in the condition i hoped to be in due to my right rotator cuff finally requiring surgery. over the last two years coming back from my left rotator cuff repair the right one has been getting increasingly worse. the right one was the initial reason for visiting the surgeon 5 plus years ago and they were suggesting possible surgery then but cortisone every year or two kept it going until the left one suddenly got bad and needed surgery and then the cortisone started becoming every six months and then every three months and finally June 6th he showed me my most recent MRI and said like before, smaller tears are much easier to repair and rehab than complete tears and if i keep training heavy without the surgery it'll be a complete tear sooner than later so i scheduled it for the monday i get back from vacation. Bummed as fuck because the four months no weight training last time in September 2017 thru Feb 2018 was torturous but i remember thinking as my left shoulder was rehabbing and getting stronger and pain free while the training resumed and weights commenced that the right one was still causing pain and limiting not only the weight lifted but the exercises i could do without pain so on the plus side i know once i am cleared to terrorize the gym again around thanksgiving i will be focused on becoming beast like for cancun next summer and i won't be tempted to start eating crap around the holidays. Just trying to stay positive and focus on the shredded beast i am focused on being after (hopefully) the last surgery now that i'll have the complete set of updated and upgraded repaired shoulders.

Tweetso surgery was July 22, it went extremely well, nerve block wore off my late afternoon, stated my pendulum swings next morning, dr says i can do them hourly instead of the 3-4 times per day last time. back to work yesterday, in the gym sunday working legs, limited to cybex seated leg press, leg extensions and adductor machine, no leg curls as this gym only has lying leg curls ad can't do that with the sling which comes off this coming monday, the same day i start PT. Monday i hit chest on the Hammer chest machine only using left arm and pec dec with left arm finishing with Strive chest machine only using left arm. yesterday it was shoulders starting with standing parallel under the smith machine(maybe perpendicular, i can't remember terminology) and did one arm presses with the smith machine, then cable laterals with left arm and cable front raise with left arm. today the plan is db curl, one arm preacher machine curls and one arm cable curls along with single arm push down and single arm extensions on Strive tri machine finishing with left arm dips on the seated cybex dip machine. don't want to stop lifting completely during PT, still have left side lagging ust a bit behind from last surgery, possibly due to babying left side during recovery from surgery on that shoulder, but feeling pretty good and planning on a triumphant return tp beast mode for awesome beach bod for cancn next year causing wet panties and penis envy. we should all hit cancun and leave then wondering what them.
Tweetfirst day of PT this morning. Tear was only around 2 centimeters. they did a third anchor just for good measure because surgeon knows i'll be hoisting heavy once i'm healed and wants the extra measure to ensure no future issues. the elbow bent, outward stretch was pretty good, as was the elbow bent, inward stretch. only got 90° on the lying flat, arm raised from side straight up stretch, goal was 90° and just got it. 180° is the ultimate goal in the next 4-6 weeks. got my homework stretches and exercises to do before next appointment Weds.
Tweetnice bd, you should be back to kicking and tearing it up in no time at all

Tweethoping to be able to be back training in the gym by thanksgiving with growth inducing poundages starting back in around january.
Tweetafter first week of PT i have some decent range of motion returning. can actually start my car and shift with my right hand again, he's got me doing a curl motion and doing 30 reps 4-5 times a day. much freer movement now and no sling since tuesday. he said the first two weeks are basically him stretching me and me doing my four exercises throughout the day and after that the fun stuff starts. I'm definitely foreseeing me hitting the weights (slowly at first) with the right arm and not just doing chest, arms and shoulders with the left arm. keeping positive mindset knowing the left shoulder came back strong after surgery two years ago so this should be a repeat performance.
TweetNext PT appt tomorrow morning. Yesterday at the dojo, showing finer points of some of the techniques in our katas and i had chambered my repaired right arm and out of habit and thousands of repetitions after the left arm blocked and trapped i threw the right punch, slowly of course demonstrating the move but i had to stop and say holy shit, i can retract and extend the limb slowly and controlled but i can do it. the stretching by the PT is working as it is supposed to.
