TweetHow You doin BigDawg? Hope everything is going well!!
Tweetso i saw the surgeon yesterday for 13 week follow up. says everything looks good other than he'd like to see more internal rotation stretching. my delts have never been that flexible arm behind back similar to At Ease military hand position but I'll keep working at it. said another 8 week follow up and they'll cut me loose. got once a week PT for 4 more weeks. today they had me add in 4 more exercises with light dumbbells and they had me doing standing cable rows and internal and external rotation on the cable crossover. be working these in the gym along with legs now til i can unleash everything in a few weeks and assault the conditioning for my mexico trip in july
Tweeti got released to go back to gym by PT tuesday. i have one more follow up with them the 22nd as my appointment last week was snowed out. She said start light and build back to pre op levels carefully but no benching or shoulder presses til i see the surgeon for my last follow up on feb 15th. feels pretty good. i'm still icing it after martial arts training. the place i train at when i'm not teaching had us throwing hundred of sets of jabs and jab/hook combos last tuesday. no pain afterwards, just the feeling i worked it harder than i have in four months so ice and ibuprofen and next day good to go. i've been doing pushdowns and cable curls in PT and the weights have gone up, tho not anywhere what i was doing before surgery. had a nice leg day yesterday. back to normal (minus pressing)next week. so thankful to be back in gym finally.

Tweetfinal followup yesterday with the surgeon. says i'm cleared. said i am not in danger of hurting it again, healing time should prevent it from reinjury. said until april to stay away from ballistic exercises like rope work (too late) but weights should be fine, go higher reps at first, again until like April but that if anything feels weird or uncomfortable to do to back off and try it again in a week or two. i had mentioned i was already back at gym per PT's ok and the only thing, other than no flat bench pressing that i don't do anyway from an injury back in '87, that was giving me any issue was chins or pulldowns. rows, no problem, shrugs, no problems, just a pulling/clicking in the shoulder/collarbone area and that could be just the anchors they put in to hold the tendon in place during healing. he said keep trying it each back workout and it should come around fine, no danger of hurting myself at this point. so 141 days til i board the plane for cancun and looking to be big and ripped as i get on.
Tweetthat's great man
