Tweethell yeah dzone it could be letting you know that its about to go. may need to go see a pt or a doc man. better safe than sorry. achilles are terrible to recover from from what i hear
TweetAnyone ever have this? The shit lingers. Pulled it 2 weeks ago running sprints. Ive been limping the whole time. Using a pro stretch and stretching it several times a day. Yesterday, it felt good enough to run again. So I ran five 100 yard sprints and could barely walk 2 hours later...
Heres my concern-Would this injury be an indicator that I could tear an achilles? Thats what Im worried about. I have to keep stretching. Going to try icing it today.

TweetDzone! Stop that right now and put a boot on it. NO stretching or anything. Immobilize it now and you may be able to heal it. If you totally sever it they replace it with a tendon that is 1/3 the size so you will never have full use of your Achilles. Get with Rake on this in PM. He completely severed his in 2012 and was able to heal it without surgery. The surgeon was astonished.
TweetWow, thats awesome. He really did heal it?
I dont think it is torn, but it is severely strained. I just dont want that to be a precursor to to a full tear. I cant afford that
TweetI would go but had to drop my health insurance after Obama took over. I have to get this to heal up on its own. Maybe Trump will make Insurance affordable again
TweetRake shot HGH and test no ester into his calf and tendon. We had no other options but to heal it ourselves either.
Tweetyou know what's funny trix? a good friend of mine that was a old school bber and converted to triathlete. i cant remember what he tore but the actual doc was doing that along with cortisone. no gh though but told him if he could get it then do it. that's funny.

Tweetthat sucks man. mine is not to great either and it is easier and faster to go to the va for specialty stuff lol. maybe go the rake route then and immobilize that puppy and make sure it heals up before doing anything on it at all

TweetWhen your only tool is a hammer, everything you see is a nail. Surgeons tend to view things that way. I tore my supraspinatous about 10 years ago. Went to the best surgeon around. He looked at my MRI and said "This is really bad" Told me no way would it ever heal without surgery. I had about 5 degrees of abduction of my shoulder and that is it. Long story short, never had shoulder surgery and am now doing things that surgeon told me I would never be able to do again.
Sometimes, surgery is needed, but sometimes the power that made the body will heal the body ...
TweetIts been 6 weeks and I am limping and have stopped sprinting until I can heal. Have to increase bag workouts to replace the sprints until I can run full speed again.
This really sucks. When it feels good, I go out and run full blast and I am right back limping again. I keep re injuring it. I use a prostretch which helps. I dont think any professional would be able to help me with this. I have to heal it myself.
Tweetrest that puppy up dzone.

Tweet100% Achilles Tendon once damaged is prone to damage after that until healed.
stop sprints. I am sure you stretched before sprinting but you have to REALLY warm up that tendon first and stretch again.
you have to let it heal, and it takes a long time. do not push it or you will be damaged for life. ice and ibuprofen and imobilization. listen to trixie's cautionary tale. I have seen guys tear their achilles in sparring and have to retire. hopefully you just pulled it
TweetYa, I cant remember an injury that lingered like this. Ive got an interferrential machine that I think I need to start using every day. I wish I had a cold laser machine, but dont have an extra $10,000 to spend on one. I suppose I could find a pro who has one, but I hate going to doctors
Tweetwe are no longer young and full of piss and power dzone. even a small nagging tweak seems to take forever for us to heal up and be back 100%. hell once i went over 28 it started happening. a couple various options you can look into : graston/iastm/active release therapy, cyro therapy and maybe some supplemental adjustments with gh bcp 157 npp and or eq. all of those help with tendons and joints so i dont see why they couldnt help speed up the recovery a bit

TweetYa brother youre probably right. It sucks. Im hobbling thru home depot today like a 90 year old man. I try to walk normal and block out the pain but its tough to fake it. I hate having the weak/loser body language of limping.
I am going to start icing it a couple times a night If I sip tart cherry all day long, the pain pretty much goes away, then I go sprint and am right back gimping again. I walked thru a restaurant last night hobbling..seemed like forever to get to my table.
I am growing a bit concerned. I have ruptured rotator cuff tendons before and that sucks but man, a calf/achilles is a muscle that you are using everywhere. I bad injury there is something I never want. I know my achilles tendon is intact. Theres no rupture, no bruising, no deformation and I have function. But there is some damage to the tendon. Time to give it as much rest as I can. Then ease back in to my rgimine
