Fuzo, and I, have our thoughts on this but I want to hear yours. At our daughters strength and conditioning class, during squatting, she felt a pop in her knee area. She continued with a couple more hours of training, and I heard nothing about it till we got home. The trainers tend to push her harder because of her abilities. It is swollen right above the kneecap, and a bit on the cap itself. Doesn't hurt with no activity, but hurts to bend at all. We are doing what we know should be done, ice, rest, advil, my potions(lol). the doc referred her to ortho just to rule out meniscus tear. Any thoughts? Advice? I am sure there are many of you that have had experience with this, and I am just hoping it is nothing but a strain.

If it just happened, give it a couple days of rest and it should be fine. Am guessing its not too serious if it was a delayed type thing. If not better in a couple days, then go to ortho. Of course, Im the kind of person who will do anything to avoid going to a dr. so mayb e I am not the one to say lol

This is what I'm thinking. Because she didn't say anything to us about it will the end of practice. She has a problem with that knee off and on to begin with. It is on the side she had the broken foot on so after that the knee was kind of out of whack. keeping my fingers crossed for fast recovery.

in my personal experience when their is a pop and swelling afterwards it goes straight to the doc and no activity. i am a huge advocate in the better safe than sorry mindset. if the trainers knew that she heard or felt a pop or they heard it, they should have stopped all activity from that point on and if they didnt then they should be fired. she should be ok, but an mri is really the only way to know for sure

Going back to my experience with my arm so far, definitely seek medical attention. I heard no pop or snap and wasn't on much pain at all for 24-48 hours and I continued to work out and work fur the next three days till the real swelling and pain started. My appt for my mri results is Monday at 8:45am and I'll
Update everyone after but I have a gut feeling it's bad. My advice again is have it checked and don't work it until she is cleared. I know I've made things worse in my case. I'm praying for you guys.

yep that's not cool at all. last time i jacked mine up i got a small pop and no pain and swelling whatsoever. what freaked me out with mine was i couldnt lock out my leg or flex my quad at all. lucky for me mine was my it band was very very angry and slipping a little bit. that's where the pop came from. quick fix for me with treatment no meds and no surgery, just lots of rehab and prehab work. i didnt even have to stop squatting after my first 2 treatments. she should be good to go in no time
