When I first got it I was thrown off kinda like what the fuck is this novelty shit. Well it’s actually pretty cool when you get used to it. It comes in a traditional squeeze bottle, you shake it up, and apply like a dime size amount of the white liquid into one of your hands. You rub your hands together like hand sanitizer, which this liquid chalk does in fact have hand sanitizer in it. It’s a plus because people are gross and you never know who just used their bare hands to wipe their ass and then used the weights.

After you rub your hands together it turns clear and your hands feel wet. To dry the chalk you can wave your hands back and forth, blow on them, or put them in front of a fan. After 15 seconds or so your hands will be completely white like you got white paint on your hands. You can clap them together and you will get a little chalk cloud to prove to yourself it has turned into actual chalk. It helps with grip just as good as powder and I would say this liquid chalk lasts at least 3 times longer. It also does not stain clothing.

It is much less messy than chalk powder. It would be a good choice for anyone with breathing issues or you just don’t care for inhaling chalk powder into your lungs especially when you are breathing hard. This would also be ideal for the at home lifter or if your gym gives lifters a hard time about chalk use. It does not leave any noticeable residue on the equipment, ventilation would not be an issue, and you won’t be vacuuming after every lift.

The only down side I have come across is that it dries the shit out of my hands; flaking, cracking, little bleeding. The solution is very simple. After I shower I apply some moisturizing lotion to my hands. I found Aveeno to work best for me but I am sure any moisturizing lotion will do.

It took me some time to get used to it. It started as my back up and now I like it more than the powder. I would say if you are on the fence to go for it and place an order. It isn’t much money and it is definitely worth trying. Be ready to share because your gym buddies will want to try it out too.
