Sounds like some rough situations gentlemen, think the best thing to do is share experiences and try your best to keep positive. Its easy to be dismissive of people who havent been there but its important to know that there are others that have and are currently going through the same thing...wish you fellas the best.

same boat as you bluegill.goin thru a seemingly never ending divorce,i work in landscaping 12-16hrs/6days a week for the last month or 2,by the time i get home, shower, eat, sit down for 5 minutes to digest it's already 9:30pm.last thing on my mind is to train.
busted my ass this whole winter puttin on some decent size, broke every PR i ever had and was really considering a show in the next year or so.i haven't hit the gym in over a month and i feel myself just wasting away.i starve all day long no matter how much i try to eat, afraid to over do it cause if i gotta shit there's nowhere for me to go...literally noplace out there.my boss sucks balls and could care less i've got things to do.
at this point i just feel like giving it all up.no more gym,no more supps,gear,etc...at one point it was the gym keeping me sane and calm.now my attitude is changing back into the dick i was before and i'm sooo afraid of relapsing cause i have the propensity to do so when down in the dumps like this.it's almost 3 full years except for 2 beers i had last year.i can't do this anymore.
the summer's comin up with the sweltering 100+ degree days again...last year i passed out 3x and was hospitalized 2x for heat exhaustion and once for an infection from a cut on my leg.just when things go good for me it's like God pulls the rug out from under me as a joke...a big friggin joke.sometimes i just wanna hang up in the park somewhere.all i want is a simple life.not tryin to make tons of coin.had it all before.just want peace and the gym.not too much for us to ask,is it...?

Now y'all have me feeling guilty about skipping out on some good days on the lake with pops brim fishin lately.

RW, we'd make great fishin buds. You could take every b@ss we caught. Gimme the 'brimmits'. Love those titty-brim.

Thanks brother. She's making progress every day. N' as far as the fishin' goes...my pops had a friend who had connections for a couple of well stocked private ponds, so we never had a hard time catching fish, lol. The bluegills n' sunnies got thrown back, we'd get a good supply of **** and catfish to keep, and still make it home in time to catch a Yankees game on the tube. Good times, indeed.

Good thing to post here, Blue. People here are first rate and we call care about each other. I'm sorry to hear about your situation, and I pray God will give you the strength and wisdom to make it through. Life can be so hard...my girl is fighting cancer, and it's been a rough road. Sometimes working out has been my salvation, and other times it's been the furthest thing from my mind. But we gotta take care of the business of taking care of ourselves and our families. Nothing wrong with breathing easy for a minute and slowing down and getting a perspective. I take it you are a competitive BB, so I'm sure you knwo what to do and will get it done. Take care broh, and remember we all care about ya

PS: I like your name...reminds me of good times with my 'Ol man when I was a kid n' we'd catch blue gills out the wazoo and have a good time just fishin' and letting 'em go.

    Peace,

    -ubg

I can only give kudo's to all the comments +100000000

slow down the pace, take a long look at the source and eliminate it, get back the focus and drive forward! Times are tough, but we all can push through hard times if we take a minute to reflect on all that we have versus what we don't! Stay strong, we got your back!

This has been a good thread to read. Everyone contributed some great wisdom here. I couldnt say it any better myself. Its amazing, the people we have here on this board. Some have been to hell and back.
Man, I definitely have seen the darkside of life. It sucks. Times when just getting through the day was a living hell.
Hope things are looking up for you soon BG.

all of those things are huge emotional blows that ironmen typically blow off and move on, and we end up getting stuck, and things drag on for ages, which sucks

my heads been like linda blairs in the exorcist for over 3 years, u'd think i know better based on lotsa stuff

so, it's normal for sure, at least you're aware of it early, that's pretty huge

    keep postin and good luck

    Re: my motivation is dead

Roofing in the summer wouldn't be ideal for me, by any means. I've never been able to take the heat that well. But, I always find myself out in it. I try to schedule my day to be inside during the hottest part of the day.
It is hard to train after bustin ass in that kinda heat. But, on the flip side. I've been asked, more than a few times, what/where/how long I go to the gym. Sometimes it might be a while since I've seen the inside of a gym, but working hard like that pays off in that way.
Having times that I lack motivation to go to the gym, I still try to conjure up a decent old-school home wrk-out. i.e. push-ups, dips, & I have a few dumbells, etc...
It's overcoming that motivation, or lack-of, that seems to be the most difficult to me.
