no way! you cant sit back (not you specificly) and GREED, GREED, GREED and then believe..oh...they rather spend more money, than pocket more money...it dont make sence bro. if they could run the entire market, in all country's, with 1 model, all universal, THEY WOULD. that way, they could afford bigger bonuses!! bigger planes, or whatever else everyones whinning about now days...think about it.

US and the rest of the world
and even if Canada is considered US, there ALOT of differences in what we get or have.

Ford produces models that are in all countries, except the US, but now they are changing mind.

They think the US market is totally different than the rest of the world and think they know what Billy Bob Smith wants compared to Jacques Lefrancais back in france.

Totally different markets yes, but who doesnt want a reliable good looking, low on gas efficient car?

and this I witnessed it with my own eyes.

The Ford Focus in america is made in Mexico, the european and worldwide model is made in Belgium in the same line of the Volvo S40, the S40, Mazda 3 and Focus Euro share the same base, why it took 5 years for ford to bring that model here?

that, i honestly dont believe. it would stand to reason that if they had to build them for strictor than necessary regulations, then they'd have to price them higher in north america. they have a hard enough time competing with the jap's in the price game with the obligations they have to retirements and pensions/medical and what not, i dont think they can afford it. if they could produce 1 focus for all markets, it would certainly be in their best intrest to do so. just makes sence.

the european rules for pollution are like 100 times stricter than California.

I think more it is a lack of willingness of the executives

euro safety CE have higher regulations than us

that may be. i never looked into what the differences are, just the fact that, that is the reason for the differences...i still dont know that, that's the case, but i'll take your word for it

different country's have different regulations...safety, emissions, ect. there alot more lieniant in europe than here...

the "australian" is basicly a "GTO" i believe.
the ford products in europe are produced with different safty regulations. they wont pass our regulations. that also contributes to the way they look. as they configure the pieces, they introduce them into our market. the 09 focus looks very much like the one's you posted. the fiesta's pretty sweet for a little car.....
