Dr. Paul Buschman, 37, of Mena, Arkansas competed in his first meet on October 4th, the SPF Arkansas State Championship in Russellville, Arkansas. He finished second in the men's open superheavyweight division with a 1625 pound total with a 650 squat, 350 bench press, and 625 deadlift. Dr. Buschman is an internal medicine physician who was a NCAA Division I track and field athlete but had not trained since the end of his collegiate eligibility prior to starting weight training again only 14 months before his first meet. He plans to compete again in January.
