Researchers studied the cardiovascular benefits of adding progressively higher intake of flavonoids to the diets of at-risk men. Flavonoids were found to significantly improve the flow of blood, reduce inflammation (lower CRP and vascular adhesion molecule), and improve eNOS (friendly nitric oxide). These are significant signs that important cardiovascular parameters, which reflect disease risk when they keep trending in the wrong direction, can be benefited by flavonoid-rich nutrition.
