  • Boost Immune Function with Supplements

Walk outside in any city or town in the world and your body is invaded by things that want to cause harm. You have pollen and smog falling from the sky and filling up your lungs with pollutants that the body does not like. Walk a little further and pass your neighbor who sneezes and your body is attacked by germs. Go to your local coffee shop for a latte and pick-up a whole other list of germs. If you don't treat your body right with the proper dietary supplements then at some point your body is going to give up and get sick.

One of the most popular questions we get is how to boost immune function with supplements. Luckily for us the question is a pretty one to answer. Dietary supplement makers are overloading the shelves of every type of store with things that will help people boost their immune system with simple supplements to their daily diets.

A supplement that is being taken to help boost immune functions should contain various vitamins. One of those essential vitamins is Vitamin C. Vitamin C is good for people who need immediate help to fight off a cold or flu. Vitamin C is also good to take to help fight off a cold or flu before it hits. Having the right amount of Vitamin C in your diet plan will help your overall health.

Vitamin A is another element that should be in any dietary supplement used to boost the immune system. Vitamin A enhances the functions of white blood cells which help the body resist infection and carcinogens. Vitamin A is also said to maintain the defenses of the skin and the mucus.

Vitamins B2 and B6 are also vitamins that should be present in immune boosting supplements. B2 will help fight off bacterial infections. Not having enough of B6 can harm your immune system.

Working some of the superfoods into your daily dietary supplement routine will also help boost your immune functions. There are many supplements on the market today that have extracts of the various superfoods.

Açaí is one of the newer fruits on the block that is being touted as a great thing to help fill the body with antioxidants and ward off evil germs. Açaí comes from a palm tree found in mostly in the Amazon. Açaí is packed with antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. The nutrients in an Açaí berry help combat premature aging, promote digestive health, heart health and helps with muscle regeneration.

Flaxseed or the oil that comes from Flaxseed is also great to have in an immunity boosting supplement. Flaxseed is high in Omega-3 fatty acids which are essential to overall health. Balancing your essential fatty acids will help your immune system get stronger.

There are also some herbs that are often added to immune boosting dietary supplements. Some of these herbs include Echinacea, Elderberry, Goldenseal and Astragalus. The most popular on that list is the Echinacea. Echinacea has been around for centuries, but didn't become popular in Western medicine until the late 1900s. Many people say that adding Echinacea to the list of supplements will help prevent colds and flues.
