Top Muscle Building Tips for Beginners

There are tons and tons of tips out there for how you should build muscle. It can be a little overwhelming if you are just starting out in the workout world. Below are the top tips for muscle building that everyone should follow.

Tip 1: Eat your weight in protein.

This means that you need to eat at least the same amount of grams of protein to equal your body weight. If you weigh 190 pounds you have to eat 190 grams of protein or more. Protein it the building block for muscles. Without protein your muscles simply will not grow. The protein you eat needs to be high in amino acids and relatively low in fat. It is true that the body needs fat to live, but they need to be the right fats.

Good proteins for building muscles include lean meats like white turkey meat, white chicken meat, whey protein powders, lower fat fish and lean cuts of pork. Many athletes and bodybuilders supplement their food proteins with protein supplements. If you go down this path it is best to find proteins high in Branched Chain Amino Acids that will help you build bigger muscles and recover from strenuous workouts faster.

Tip 2: Eat lots of carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates have gotten a bad reputation lately, but the truth is that the body needs carbohydrates to help build muscles. Your body uses carbohydrates to create energy. Without good energy levels your workouts will not be productive.

What happens is that the body turns carbohydrates into glucose which in turn creates energy. If the body runs out of glucose it will start looking for protein to create energy. If your body starts using proteins to create energy less of that protein will be going to help build muscles.

Tip 3: Eat enough essential or good fats.

In order for your body to work properly it requires a good balance of Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 fatty acids. These types of fats help your body produce the proper hormones. If you don't have enough of these essential fatty acids you will see a dip in your testosterone. Not enough testosterone in your system will hinder muscle growth.

You are most likely getting enough Omega-6 fatty acids in your regular diet, but you may want to look into dietary supplements. These supplements can help you build stronger muscles.

    Tip 4: Don't fear supplements.

Supplements often get just as bad of a reputation as carbohydrates, but if you are looking to build muscles you will need some help. There is very little chance that you have the time or the money to get all the proteins, carbohydrates and fatty acids you need just by consuming food alone. There are plenty of safe and effective lean muscle building supplements on the market that when taken properly will help you achieve amazing muscle growth.

Tip 5: Rest on a regular basis.

I know that sounds counter intuitive to the top tips for muscle building, but the body needs time to recover. If you don't give your body a rest it will continue to burn energy and will not aid in the growth of your muscles. You want to rest at least once a week and also work in a full week off from time to time.

So there you have it. The top tips for muscle building. There are other things to help you build big muscles, but in my book these are the five that you have to follow or your workouts will be a waste of time.
