    Circuit Training Burns Fat

If you want a variation in your workout routine that will enable you to maintain lean muscle while burning fat, give circuit training a try. Even if you already train with free-weights, you can use circuit training from time to time to vary your workout routine.

    Fat Burning Circuit Training Workout

Circuit training workouts, like CrossFit, involve using machines or free weights. You still train much the same as you would if you were using free weights in the sense of sets and repetitions. While machines don’t provide as much resistance as do free weights, they do work well for building muscle mass.

Circuits are a group of exercises you can do with free weights or of machines that work the various muscle groups. They are stationed so you can work different groups during the course of your workout so that by the end, you will have completed an entire circuit and worked each muscle group accordingly. If performed correctly, circuit training can result in fat loss, maintaining muscle mass and a good cardio workout. It all takes place within a short period of time. Fat loss will occur because you are pushing weights around rapidly. You can preserve muscle mass by lifting the same amount week after week. While it is possible to increase the amount of weight you lift using the machines, you won’t achieve the same bulky results as you would if you were using weights because of the limitations provided by the machines. Still, you can do it alone and can adjust the amount of weight you lift easily.

Your heart rate will also remain elevated for 15 to 20 minutes during your circuit training routine which will provide the cardio benefit. You should supplement this with other cardio exercises if you want true cardiovascular advantages.

    Lean Muscle

A circuit training routine for building lean muscle can be comprised of a number of exercises. You can use a simple four exercise circuit performed for multiple sets, or utilize more exercises comprised of compound movements that focus on the various muscle groups.

Body weight exercises work great in terms of circuit training. You can acquire an amazing physique by using only pull-ups, inverted rows, dips and pushups. When designing your routine, make sure you include exercises that will work each muscle group. This will enable you to maintain the lean muscle mass you have gained and provide you the most benefits possible.

No matter how you choose to circuit train, keep in mind you will have several options in terms of the exercises you choose. Vary these routines from time to time as well just so your muscles don’t get too used to the same exercises over and over again.
