Tweetnope...sounds awsome to me!!! i'm jelous, lol
Tweeti will have my $$$ to get my AR15
i think i have decided on a CMMG mil spec forged lower with the jewell trigger group and a RRA flat top chrome moly upper
a wee bit under $900 and i will have a $1100-1200 carbine
i have been doing research from months now and talked to some AR buddies.
some have said just get the cheap DPMS panther lite from $675. i am sure it would perform well at my ability but if i am going to do it i wanna do it right.
i have a millet 30mm red dot for the top i got for 75% off so i am pumped!
anyone wanna critique my choices?

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
TweetSounds like you've hit the nail, that you're aiming for, right on the head.
Early Congrats! Throw that scope on 'er, and sight it in. I don't think you can co-witness with the norm flip-up sights.
Awesome plinker. Great weapon, period.
You're going with a .223/NATO, I'm guessing? If so. That's, of course, what makes the AR such a great plinker. Fun for everyone. Fire away. Anyone that says that round is inferior. well...that's a relative statement really. Of course it is to (x)=(better round), but the NATO .223 yaws and tumbles at only a few inches in soft target. This is good. The stability of the 7.62x39mm was it's down side early in it's developement. The Soviets solved that issue early on by adjustments in the tail-end of the round.
Great choice. Keep it clean.
TweetNATO/5.56 not .223
Jipped, the Jewell trigger is an excellent trigger. I have them on all my competition rifles. They are fully adjustable down to 1 pound pull. Their benchrest models are adjustable down to a few ounces. Keep in mind that this is a very precisely made trigger mechanism and needs to be kept clean. To clean it, you remove it and clean it with lighter fluid.

TweetI can't wait to start building a collection once I get some debt out of the way. I went to a friends house last week and he has guns hidden EVERYWHERE!!! He has something in every spot that he would possibly be in case someone broke in on him. It's ridiculous! But he has not kids too...

Tweetit's pricey but for what i want i feel its the best. the CMMG is one of the cheapest stripped lowers but is mil spec and forged just like the expensive ones. and the ratings are great.
i chose not to go with a chrome lined barrel as i wont be putting 30K rounds through it (if that even will effect a CM
TweetAre you getting it chambered in .223 or 5.56mm?

Tweet5.56, i actually ordered it today and changed my mind on the upper. for the same price i got the complete CMMG carbine, chrome lined barrel basically is the only diff. and i get it for the same price.
