Obama decides troop visit in Germany would be 'inappropriate'

(CNN) — Barack Obama has opted against plans to visit wounded members of the U.S. military in Germany over concern that trip might be viewed as a political one.

“During his trip as part of the CODEL to Afghanistan and Iraq, Senator Obama visited the combat support hospital in the Green Zone in Baghdad and had a number of other visits with the troops,” Obama senior advisor Robert Gibbs said in a statement.

“For the second part of his trip, the senator wanted to visit the men and women at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center to express his gratitude for their service and sacrifice. The senator decided out of respect for these servicemen and women that it would be inappropriate to make a stop to visit troops at a U.S. military facility as part of a trip funded by the campaign.”

I can't stand to hear Obama speak! He sounds like a preacher in a church from the southside of Chicago! I think McCain is much more sincere and genuine in his speaking. You actually see people in his audience crying, much more feeling in his speeking. Obama may draw a larger crowd, bt that doesn't mean people are there because they like him, they may just want to hear what he has to say. A lot of people tune in to listen to Howard Stern everyday, but they still can't stand him! They just want to hear what he says and does next, lol!

Tweeti thought it was very wise for him to not go to the hospital in germany...i think it would have made it look like he was just using the troops to gain in the political process..but either way..whether he did or did not go the mccain camp would have slandered him...first mccain *****ed that obama didnt spend enough time overseas..the when he does they shyte on him about that..mccain challenged him to go and when he did mccain tried to spin it negatively..mccain is beginning to play dirty and i dont think that looks good...ttacking the other candidate make you seem smaller and maybe even a bit afraid..
