Lost my boy yesterday

TweetMy boy, Brando was put to sleep yesterday. Some of you might remember Bruno, his father who died last year. Brando was my best friend and he went everywhere with me. I took him to work every day. Everybody loved him. He was the sweetest german shephard and he didnt have mean bone in his body. Today, I grieve his loss. I am trying to work. My eyes are bloodshot and swollen. My whole world is changed now.
Just tried to load his pic on here, but it didnt work. I dont really know if anyone can relate. It is so hard. I feel like going home. I have a busy schedule today.
I could not have asked for a more wonderful dog. The vet said it was one of the hardest ones she has ever done. She loved him too. Anyone that knew Brando loved him.

Tweetsorry to hear about your loss man. i had a german shepard as well when i was a kid. Her name was Linda. She was shot by someone who was never identified. To this day I will never forget her.

I had to do this three years ago to my lab and I still tear up thinking about it. He was a very good hunting dog and family pet.

It was just gut-wrenching holding him as he passed.
It was just as bad having to go home to tell my 5yr old and 2yr old that their dog wasn't coming hom.
I had him creamated and picked up his ashes after opening day of duck hunting and went through the emotion all over again.

It took me a while to be ready for another dog.

I now have a 2-year old lab that is a part of the family and my hunting companion. I hope he lives along time, which is hopefully 10-12 years. I also hope he dies peacefully in his sleep, not on the counter at the vets office.

I'm sure you made the right decision out of love for your dog. Keep that in mind and remember all the joy he brought your life.

TweetI have always had boxers and great danes so I can relate. Pets can become like people, like part of your immediate family. You see them everyday, you become very attached. Anyone can understand what youre going through man. Hang in there....it will get better bro.
