TweetI got this email today and I never thought of it but it is very true. What do you guys think?

"Like a lot of folks in this state I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them??
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check??

Please pass this along if you agree or simply Delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though. Something has to change in this country and soon!

Think about it, right now there is a huge stink with performance drugs in sports. This would be the perfect time to get law makers on the welfare people too. If they are going to tell athletes they can't do drugs to make money, they sure as hell better be willing to tell people on welfare the same damn thing! Fair is fair and there should not be any double standards.

Tweeti dont have a problem with someone who uses drugs that takes care of their family, has a job and has their **** together, but 99% of people collecting welfare who take drugs are junkies and use the welfare $ to feed their addiction and are probably not trying to better their lives, so i think the urine test would be a good idea.

Well how you like the fact, let's say, you buy a pair of shoes! That pair of shoes is from china, ok no big deal.


Now, that pair of shoes get here in Canada, cost Nike 10$, the canadian government charge them 17.5% custom, so here already 1.70$ in taxes plus GST, and TVQ lands in Quebec.
You add up the cost and all, let's say you pay 100$
on that 100, you will pay 14$ in taxes right. it is fun to see that taxes were applied three to four times, on the same items by the same taxes.

Now work to pay your income taxes too.

TweetCan someone tell me why there are no urine tests? Has no one in congress thought of this? Just think of all the money we would save from the failed piss tests and not having to pay. Therefore it can't be a money issue. I just don't get it. I am writing my congressman.

TweetTo take this a step further, how about some of the mothers that receive child support. Would it not be a good policy for them to produce receipts to prove the money was being spent on the child? Allow a certain percent to be used for rent or house payment, but prove the rest was spent on the child.

I wouldnt go that far, now if all the bills were split up equally (Utilities, rent, child care, clothing, food, medical, etc) where ever the kid was living and then child support was based off of that then that would work. I would bet though most child support payments would go up if it was to go that route imo. As it is now I think a lot, not all but a lot of people paying child support get off light.

Just to play devil`s advocate, the problem is where do you draw the line? Welfare? How about unemployment? If those then why not social security? How about medicare? VA benefits?

Lots of different people use drugs and recieve money from the US govt.

Hell, I`d like to see all govt employees (including congress) get manditory drug tests.

TweetInteresting. I believe that passing a drug test may be a good idea for people to qualify for public assistance. However, I would assume that most employment tied to a clean drug test is contingent upon passing ONE drug test. We could not ask the unemployed to submit to more than one, because a different standard for the unemployed is discrimanation. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will be on that before the ink dries.

Also, I have seen many people go "clean" for a month or so to beat the employment test, so what is stopping those who would apply for pulic assistance. That is a BIG loophole - and ultimately a wasted expense that will again come out of our taxes. Or it would take money away from other more effective programs.

Unfortunately, I don't think we can do anything about being taxed 4 times for the same product/service either.
