TweetTALKING ABOUT SPOILED BRATS I KNEW THIS RICH KID WHEN I WAS YOUNG WENT SWIMMING AT HIS HOUSE. HIS FAMILY WAS LARGE THE PARENTS HAD A FRIDGE IN THERE BEDROOM. ANYWAY THIS KID WAS MAKING EGGS AND HE DROPPED TO ON THE FLORR AND I ASKED ARENT YOU GOING TO CLEAN IT UP HE SAID NO THE MAID WILL DO IT.

Tweetspolied brats bc they dont like the direction of the country? i love our country as much as anyone can..but hate the direction its heading, when things are changing for the worse, which they are, people need to take action and "complain" or the things that are going wrong will worsen..i just think the articles point was lost when it compared citizens unhappines in the where our country is heading, with people appreciating America..Being spoiled to me means not appreciating what you have, it doesnt mean you cant try to prevent our freedoms and laws from being comprimised.. A Patriot-or ones love for their country should be measured by questioning govt and concern with issues that effect our standard of living.

My thoughts exactly. The article is mixing apples with oranges. Being spoiled has nothing to do with questioning how the government is running the country.

TweetGuess I kind of opened a can of worms by posting this article. I do not agree with everything the author is saying. But do agree with his point that a majority of Americans are quite spoiled. Our country has an abundance, and in many instances, an over abundance of many of the things we need,ie: food,clothing,freedoms, and many other ammenities. But still many complain about the choices available to them,"It's not what I want", or "I don't want to wait for something that long."
We, as a nation, have more choices available to us than we know what to do with. Yet we seem to take them for granted,as though we expect it or it is our God given right.
Before you jump all over me and say." what about the poor and uneducated that don't have these choices available to them?" I agree, we as a nation should offer help and assistance to thosse that are less fortunate. I have no problem helping the elderly,disabled,retired from service, or orphaned children. In fact, I believe we as a nation should look after these people. They have given of their time and life to contribute to our national wealth.
But back to the subject, I am digressing.The jist of what I gathered from this article is that some people will complain about what they do or do not have, no matter what their status in life is. Some will whine about having too much to choose from or having to make a decission and then sticking with that decission. Some will just never be pleased no matter what is offered to them.
So the next time you start to complain about what you do or do not have, take a moment and reflect on what is available too you versus what some others in the world, and in our own country, don't have or the limited choices that are within their grasp. I think you will come to a conclusion that the overall topic of the article is correct. We are a country of spoiled brats.
As far as the direction this country is headed, there are many things that I think need to be and should be changed. But that will be in another soap box speech. As for loving the USA, I would glady sacrafice my life to keep our nation,people and way of life from being wiped out.

OK, I have had my say and will now come down from my soap box.

Tweet...i took from it along the same lines as waterboy. yep, i dont agree with everything that is going on. i tried to change that through my vote. i express things that i dont agree with, but in general, i'm more than happy and feel honored to live in the u.s.a.

Tweetyes we do have it better then the rest of the world does ..so for that i am proud to be an american.....BUT i do not like how the goverment runs things around here..nor do i like what the presedent has got us into over seas.....it just a bunch of crap if ya ask me...i always hear stuff on the radio on how to help cure AIDS in Africa and other places..witch is fine but never do you hear about hey lets raise money to help the babies with no homes here or the AIDS prob we got here...just pisses me off.sorry if i am just rammbaling...
