WELL I CRACKED IT ALL THE WAY AROUND ON THE BOTTOM AND A FEW CHIPS FELL OFF.HOW DO YOU FIX SOMETHING LIKE THAT.WHAT COULD THEY DO TO IT TO FIX IT.I HAD IT IN MY HAND AND IT HIT SOMETHING ON ACCIDENT.I SHOULD OF NEVER TOOK IT OUT OF THE CABINET. WELL THE WIFE GOT VERY EMOTIONAL AND NOW I HAVE TO FIX IT.SHE'S NOT MAD ANYMORE BUT IT HAS A VALUE TO IT TO US

TweetWell, if you have all of the pieces you can super glue it back together. If you're not comfortable doing that yourself you could try to look up and art restoration specialist and see how much they might charge. I'm sure there are many in your area Fuzo.

That would be choice number 2, take what you have to someone who paints them and tell them to duplicate it. If the wife is upset, the fact you get if fixed or replaced will say a lot.

Tweetno joke you could try and find a old school clock specialist...you know the kind of shop where its an old guy tinkering with watches, clocks, coo-coo clocks, grandfather clocks and such...I've seen stuff like that in there windows so I'm guessing a guy who works on intricate stuff could repair it.

Can you post a photo of your ostrich egg?
When we were married, my in laws gave us a really big wooden spoon and fork. Like maybe 3 feet long each. It was kind of like real "Tahitian" looking. We sold them bad boys at the yard sale. I suggest you do the same with the ostrich egg. You might get a few bucks for it. Or claim it under homeowners insurance. Tell the Agent it was a Fabrege egg worth $10,000. And you'll gladly pay the $500 deductable.
