TweetYep, it did. It traveled about 30 miles and refroze.
Here's my comment, when this broke (and I read the entire article) there wasn't one mention of water levels rising. Also, they clearly stated 3-4 times that over 90% of the ice shelves had dimminshed since 1906. So, with 90% of the ice shelves gone...lol...the water levels are still the same today as they were back then.
I gotcha again! Let's face it, if there was going to be an increase in water level, we would have already witnessed it with the 90% of the shelves they've lost, but we haven't. It's just like that NASA satalite imaging that Mick, or was it you, posted that clearly showed that even though the outer ice was diminishing, the inner ice was thickening. What do you really think, do you really think that half the world's land mass is going to disapear? Come on...think about it this way...if the temp get's that high that most of the polar caps melt, don't you think the ground that the water is coming up to meet won't just suck it up like a sponge. If temps get high enough to do that, there will be way more evaporation that there already is. Don't believe the hype bro, God controls this planet and nothing is going to happen without his say so.

Yep, I believe it is possible.
I believe you are saying that the inner thickening offsets the outer ice melting.....recently I watched a documentary on the Antarctica and it mention the fact that the inner ice is thickening and the consequences associated with it.
Just as God allows a human to destroy their body, he will allows us to destroy our environment.
I believe in global warming.
Cheers
TweetOnly have to worry when shelves break off in the Antartic, not the northern polar caps, they're already "floating"
Tweetnorthern ice reflects a lot of the sun back up, as the northern ice melts more sun (heat) is absorbed into the ocean causing the water temp to increase thus causing more ice to melt more rapidly. It is a cycle that is accelerating exponentially.
TweetYou know, one thing I wonder is, if all of this is due to the CO2 produced, why isn't more done in the way of planting trees? It's a known fact that plants absorb CO2 and make O2. So, why isn't there some big push to plant tress and such in areas that don't have them? There are plenty of areas that could support trees, yet don't have them. Hell, east of me (east of Colorado Springs) is like a baren desert. But, many home owners who buy large lotsout there will plant a bunch of trees and within about 5 years, they have these huge tress that not only shade there homes, but protect them from the winds. If they are so worried, why doesn't every country get together and plant a 100,000,000 new tress, or more? Start balancing things out already. Nothing pisses me off than knowing what the cause is and not attempting to remedy it. But, who knows, maybe the earth is getting over populated and this is natures way and reducing mankind to re-establish order. I'm not worried, I'm 6,600 above sea level. lol
