TweetMy girlfriend just moved back to New York and I have been sending resumes to some companies up there. One from Long Island responded and I'm just curious what its like up there. Can a guy from East Texas survive in New York? Hell, I lived in Dallas for almost 4 years without any trouble!

TweetI live in the City. You'll need a car if you're going to be out on Long Island. You'll get culture shock, being from East Texas, but you'll be fine. Don't forget your cowboy boots, that will be funny.
TweetI live on LI. If you want a house bring a dump truck full of cash. I'll be looking for an apartment soon, going price eastern LI $850-$1400 single bedroom, nothing fancy. Want a house? 2-3 bedroom, 80x100 lot nothing fancy - $350,000. I'm moving south eventually, can't stand the prices here anymore. It's good for a family, most areas are really nice for kids, etc. but it is expensive to live here now.
So be sure that you are makin the best of what that you have
the truth is all within yourself
