Tweetlxorl,
For all you budding investors here is the suggestion.
Read: "Secrets For Profiting In Bull & Bear Markets"
by Stan Weinstein
You can get it used at Amazon for ten bucks.
The Key: How Too Use it?
Read it through one time. Second time take notes, and then go too work. First year, re-read it every 3 months. Second year re-read it every 4-6 months. After that once a year or however many times you feel like.
Question: Why is re-reading neccessary?
As your knowledge grows and prospers when re-reading the book you will understanding so much more, it will be so much clearer, you will be able to read between the lines, uncover the underlying meaning. And most critical as time goes on, remind you of what is important.
I have read hundreds of investing books. The key is too understand how does the big huge professional smart money think. I am not talking about some day trader, mutual fund manager or your broker. This book is an entry in too the mind of folks who've made 10's and 100's of millions of dollars in the markets.
And guess what, it is ten times easier then all the gobbly-gook they spout on TV.
lxorl PM'd me about his sirius thread, wanted to know why I was not pro on being long term investor. The answer to that question is in this book, plus many more.
IF anyone get's the book and reads it I'll be happy to answer any quesitons, in thread on through PM's.
If you do a search I started a thread about the market in September of last year, and plainly stated I was extremely bullish.
Why was I so bullish? Well, no one was selling any stock. If no one is selling, price either stays the same or goes up. Since that time dow has gone from 9,200 to 10,700, a 16% gain in six months. And guess what, we still are seeing very little selling of stock, so guess what is the best guess of immediate future.
One of the key indicator's I follow is overall in the market wether stock is being sold or bought as a whole. This has quite a safety factor because en-mass folks do not start selling as a whole, but guess what, you can spot when the really smart big money begins their selling.
Now, I'm not smart enough to have all the research they do, yet I'm smart enough to know when the big guys go through the door I should be right behind.
Alright.
