Have any of you ever been told that your heart was enlarged? If so, was it related to AAS use?

No, I get two complete physicals each year, one from the City and one from my part time job. One in April and the other in October, so It helps me stay on top of my blood work and such. The one with the City even does a stress test on the treadmill while hooked up to a heart monitor.

So far, I still check out with a clean bill of health.

I know HGH will cause organs to grow again, but not sure if the heart (cardio) muscle is affected or not.

Nope, but I've had a lot of patients w it. It was usually caused by untreated hypertension or copd.

Not here. Many recent studies indicate that AAS use and enlarged heart (left ventrical ) are not related. They do show that HGH stacked with AAS have shown an increase in the left ventricals size but not enough to cause any ill side effects.

These studies have indicated though that many weight training and heavy resistance trained athletes whether on AAS at some point or never at all have shown increases in the hearts size directly related to this type of lifting lifestyle.

Endurance athletes will have hypertrophy too, but I don't think it affects function. I can spot an endurance athlete just by looking at his EKG during a treadmill test.

True. This is what more and more studies are now showing.Exercising in itself can increase the size of your heart. The heart is a muscle so why would it not be enlarged due to the repeated trauma of intense exercise? Now doctors have been finding this out and dismissing the idea that AAS use and an enlarged heart have any correlation.

Three years ago I was diagnosed with "apical hypotrophic cardiomyopathy" plus LVH, dr said the LVH could have been from heavy lifting and/or untreated HBP,and the HCM most likely hereditary, didnt really think aas had alot to do with it..Ive had no issues with it other than an occasional racing heart beat.

I think there is confounding data because guys that abuse aas and have hypertension for years actually do damage their heart. If hypertension and lipids are controlled in aas users I bet the rate of hypertrophy would be low.
The jerks that abuse aas make us responsible users look bad. There's a guy on ironmag that runs tren at over a gram a week. He's an aas abuser IMO.

Mind of I ask your age and cycle experience?

Either way, the same advice that we all should listen to, is the same for you. Heart healthy diet, cardio exercise, stress management, low body fat and good social support.

i think arx here is proving a point that a lot of us have thought over the years. if you are genetically predisposed to a health related condition then the aas and hgh are only going to speed up the process in the long run. i think that is why you see people kill over from heart attacks early and stuff like that in younger athletes
