I have done a lot of research on T3 and know that people usually start at 25mcg/day - 100mcg/day then ramp down and all that, but my question is, does your thyroid return to normal after you are done with a cycle of this?

I am planning on only doing 4 weeks going from 12.5mcg - 25mcg, should I have any problems with this you think, or will the low doses keep me from having any thyroid problems?

The rule of thumb, if I remember correctly, is 5/40/55. You spend 5% of the time ramping up, 40% of the time at max dose and then 55% of the time ramping down. The ramp DOWN is more important than the ramp up because you want to SLOWLY get it out of your system.

So, say you did 50 days, it would break down like this:
3 days to ramp up (I rounded up)
      20 days at max dose
      27 days of ramping down

This is the formula I used the first two times I did it. The research I read said for your first time, make the ramp down more like 60% and the max time 35%. I haven't had any problems. I maxed it at 100 mcg ed once but the other times I maxed it at 75. I never start with less than 25, but when I ramp down I break the 25's in half and go all the way down to 12.5 mcg ED to make it as smooth as I can.

With that said, I know some guys on here have ran 75 ED with no ramping. I also know a guy at my old gym that did NOT ramp and now he's on that **** for the rest of his life because he fuked his thyroid up. He has to get a script filled forever. So.....ramp up and take your time ramping down, it's just not worth it.

But, the best advice I have heard was not to use it as the primary. Take no more than 25 mcg ED but clean up the diet and add cardio. This, hands down, is the wisest way to go. One, it teaches you to not rely completely on the T3, two it gets you in the habit of cleaner eating and cardio, and three it's a lot less likely to mess with you. With a lower dose, you can stay on a little longer too. But, I still don't think anything longer than six to eight weeks is necessary. If you body fat is so high that you need longer, then you aren't ready for T3. You need to get your BF as low and you can and then use it for assistance. I'll be the first to admit it, I used it as my primary source of fat burning my first time and when I got off most of the fat came back because I did not establish the habits needed to keep it off. I got down to 225 and looked pretty good, but it wasn't long before I was back in the upper 230's.

Anyway, that's my advice to you bro.

Thanks T-mann, but my main issue is wether or not everything will return to normal when I am done. I will ramp off, and stay very low dose, so I think it wont effect my thyroid in the long run, am I right?

I think for the most part everyone is different...especially in size and weight....For T-Man to say you will be fine....there is no guarantee... but as a rule of thumb as he states...at a low dose like should be fine in the short term and long term. But to be safe get it checked if you can before and after with some blood work.

Where did I say he would be fine? I never said that. I said it is 'less likely to mess with you'. I never said he would be fine. Do me a favor and don't mis quote me. Thanks.

As with any of the stuff we do, it's all about risk management. EVERYTHING most of us do has a side effect. Some of us are wise and minimize the risks as much as possible, but there still is no guarantee. FROGMAN and I know a dude who did a lot of aas in HS and he now is on dialysis. The dude is two years younger than me and he never did any super high dose cycles. But, he never took time off like he should have and now his kidneys are useless. The dude has been on dialisys for a while because guys who do the crap he did don't exactly get pushed to the top of the donor list. There are guys on here that have done waaaaaaaaaaay more stuff than he ever did and their kidneys are fine. So what does that tell you? You just never know. But, with blood work and doing low doses you can reduce the risks because you are more informed. Like I said, if you are smart with it, it's less likely to mess with you. This is just like aas or gh or anything else, you have to decide if the payoff is worth the risk.

I agree T-man, I will def do blood work b4 and after. In most safely done cases though, your t3 levels do go back to normal when done, correct?

They answer is yes, your thyriod will take over T3 production as normal if all things go well. After 21 years of lifting, I've only met a couple people that messed up their thyroid from T3. Both of them did the same thing, too high of doses and did not ramp down porperly. I realize, I do not have access to thousands of users but over the years on this board I have yet to meet anyone that took it correctly and had issues. So, if done wisely, your levels 'should' all return to normal. If this is your first time, keep the dose lower and ramp down slowly, this will create less of a shock for your body. Take aas for example, what do you think would happen if someone's first cycle was 750 mg/wk test, 400 mg/wl deca amd 800 mg/wk of EQ? There body would go into shock. It would be much harder for them to get back to normal as well. It's a progression. Start with a low dose and see how it goes. Once you finish, stay off for a MINIMUM of 8 weeks. If you can go longer, that would be even better. It's when you are off that your body get's back to normal.

I took T3 for 5 days, starting at 10,15,20,25,25... now I have decided this isn't for me, and I was wondering if since I only went so high, would it be alright to just do 2 days at 12.5 then get off it you think?
