Tweetyes hcg will over ride the sperm lowering effects of AAS. i am feeding my boy right now but i have been through some stuff i will hit you back about.
TweetI want to know how effective steroids are as birth control. I know that AS are used in some countries as birth control for men, but I wonder if that's just a front for the most part. Now don't get me wrong. I know that steroids deplete sperm count, but really how effective is it in preventing pregnancy? I wish I could find some numbers and facts on the subject. Does it just lower sperm count by half, or does it make you shoot blanks?, fully sterile?... what??? I would love to know. Someone must have tests on the effectivness of AS as birth control. I wonder if while you are "on" if you were to administer HCG, if it would boost sperm count to normal, possibly above normal levels.

Tweetwell I am 36 and have been cycling since i was like 23 I think. I experimented with long cycles, sometimes 6 months or more. When I was 28 I had a Dr check my test levels. I dont remember the exact number but it was low, i remember thinking I had the levels of a little girl..LOL. Anyway, he sent me to see and endocrinologist and that ended up being the best trip I ever made. After an MRI on my pituitary gland and some blood work the endo told me that he believed my pituitary wasnt sending enough signal(LH/FSH) to my testes to tell them to produce test and sperm. He said the blood work showed my thyroid was normal and my IGF levels were normal (which says that my GH levels were normal). The Endo told me he was issuing me a script for test and I would need to take it for the rest of my life probably. I was looking disappointed but on the inside I was smiling. He said if I ever wanted to have kids I would need to take HCG and he would give me a script for that as well. Well couple years go by and I meet the woman that is now my wife. We decide we want to have a baby. I get my HCG script filled and after 3 month of use my sperm levels were at low normal and then at 6 months the level was double of the 3 month level.
Now I did tell my Endo everything about me using AAS and he thought that maybe i had something going on with me that would have made my levels low whether I took AAS or not. Me personally, I think it was the juice that caused my low levels and just the repeated frequent cycles caused my pituitary to become lazy. I did end of having a baby boy just a few months ago and I was on a cycle of 1000mg test a week along with HCG when she got pregnant. See that HCG mimics the signal sent by the pituitary that tells the testes to work so as long as that signal is there the testes will work no matter how much AAS you are taking.
TweetWell, that is really good to hear, and congratulations on the baby boy! Congrats on everything. I figured that if need be that HCG should do the trick, on or off cycle. Thank you much for sharing your story. I have been searching and researching and just couldn't really find anything about it. Thanks for clearing the whole picture for me.
Tweetim glad i was able to help brother
Tweetwow thx for the great info Rolsroyce

TweetWell, I've been off for about 4 months now, give or take, because the wife and I are ready for another baby. I think I'm going to set up the appointments ASAP. I really feel my test levels are low. I'm thinking I might be in the same boat as Rols. Either way I need to get something going.
TweetGreat start to the week. I called this morning and they had a cancelation at the endo, so I was in there. The doc was a super nice guy that seemed very eager to help with hormone replacement. He ordered the blood work and I went right over and had blood drawn. The results should be in by Wed/Thursday at the latest. I asked the endo how fast we could get going with the hormone replacement given the test results prove defficiencies, and he replied, "Right away", meaning the day of my follow up. I'll keep posted.
TweetI've never been to an endo, I prolly should though. As for your original question, I say it's a crock. I was on a cycle when two of my kids were concieved, and had been on for at least a month or so.

Tweetjust a question- I'm on HRT as well ,but back when I was cycling I recall one of the draw backs with HCG was it also rasises your Estrogen levels as well. I will have to go back and look through so old research.
