I had a full thickness rotator cuff tear 4 years ago. They coudn't fix it with the scope...had to open it up, trim away the damaged tendon, screw it all down, grind out the socket so the ball would fit in there correctly again, blah, blah. 4 months out of the gym, religeously doing my rehab excercises (mostly using a pulley for range of motion). I let myself get some strength back before gassing up again, probably 75% of what I could do prior to the injury. It took nearly a year, but I was back to full speed, and no further problems. If you lift too much too quick, you will just reinjure yourself.
There is no substitute for experience......
