It certainly is a healthy way of life however it's demands on the body and endocrine system can be very taxing !

Good question. And for the moment its hard to give an accurate answer. Here's why:

Most of the sides resulting from AAS are long term. Meaning it can years and even decades before you can notice something. That's in most cases. So actually it would be old school guys like Arnold that we should take a look at. Thing is: these guys weren't juicing like mad men unlike the new generation. A 200 mg of primo stacked with 10 mg of DBols was standard. 400 mg of any subtance was hardcore. So I doubt you'll see some health issue with them. Well maybe Arnold since he pushed the limit a bit.

You also have "pioneers" (lol) like Paul Borresen who was among the first to go insane with dosage. I wonder how he's doing lately.... lol

Now guys like Ronnie Coleman are on people's dead pool for a reason. Taking 2 g of test, 200 mg of 17aa, and over 12 IU of GH is unhealthy. Who knows what problem this guy will have in 5-7 years. Maybe a prostate big as an orange, multiple tumors, cancer, madness, nervous problems.....

Bottom line: it's all about having a good balance. No way taking 3 g of anything a week is healthy but no one is ready here to spend the rest of his life as a 150 lbs skeleton.

questions like this make me think it is us who are perpetuating the myth that steroids are dangerous. it reminds me of the pogo cartoon years ago, where he says, "we have met the enemy and he is us."
if i didn't think using AS were as safe as taking a multi-vitamin, i wouldn't take them.
however, does arnold look like your typical 55 year old man? look at dave draper, larry scott, bill pearl, boyer coe, these guys used when the only AS anyone had EVER heard of was DBol. they are all healthier and younger looking than most men 20 years younger. by the way, i'm 45 and most people tell me they think i'm between 30 and 33.

There's so much more people do to thier bodies to get a certain look. If I had to compare most of the people on the board to advanced bodybuilders, I'd wager that the people on this board are generally healthier than the professionals and those on the edge of becoming professional.

Theres a book written in extreeme detail about the pro BB lifestyle. I think it's called INSIDE BODYBUILDING or BODYLIFE. If I can get in touch with my friend who read it, I'll post the title and author. It gets quite graphic about what prof BB's do to get their body to look a certain way. The book also points out many ways the avg prof. BB is far less healthy than one would guess.
      well said

Depends on their life style. The unhealthy effects of the drugs, is somewhat reletive in damage to someone who drinks heavy, or does a lot of drugs other then aas.

But then you have to factor in the problem of being overweight, and the stress on the heart with todays bodybuilders.

All in all, I would think the smart ones would live juse as long as peope who smoke, or drink every weekend, or eat a lot of fast food.

      Arrow early death

I agree with food intakes fats, ect lead to early clogging of the arteries and make organs (enlarged) from working harder to breakdown toxins from foods, drugs, ect

A 270lb BB'r consumes and digests probably 5 times more foods than an average non-BB. I know the path I took almost 20yrs ago and never looked back thinking should
We can't fool ourselves and think is 100% safe its not we and have?

      they say
"Were born small and weak. We die small and weak. What we do in the middle is up to us!"

I will die big I only hope!

I have no siblings and family only in Italy.
