Tweetfor everybody who isn't convinced that baseball players juice then read this form espn:
Rangers outfielder Juan Gonzalez, whose 2002 season was derailed by thumb and hand injuries, recently had an outpatient surgical procedure to remove a fatty mass from his chest, the Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday.
Rangers general manager John Hart told the newspaper the Dec. 27 procedure in Puerto Rico to remove the lipoma was minor, and Gonzalez could have continued his rehabilitation workouts the next day.
A story in the San Juan, Puerto Rico, newspaper El Nuevo Dia suggested Gonzalez, entering the final year of his contract with the Rangers, had shut down his workouts because of the procedure.
But the Rangers said Gonzalez, a two-time MVP in his first tour of Texas, had planned to take a break from his workouts from the Christmas holidays through the Puerto Rican holiday, Three Kings Day (Jan. 6), according to the report.
According to the Morning News, Hart said Ray Ramirez of the Rangers training staff, recently in Puerto Rico to monitor Gonzalez's rehabilitation, reported the outfielder has made strong progress from the thumb and hand injuries that twice sent him to the DL last season and limited him to 70 games -- the lowest total in his career.
Gonzalez, 33, hit .282 with eight homers and 35 RBI last season
where do you think that fatty mass came from?
