Tweetno i allways draw with a 23-25 ga
TweetI usually put the final product of my experiments into a 100ml sealed btl, since the amounts are usually between 80-120ml.
Anyways, I had been drawing with a 20G pin, and after about 20 or so extractions from the vial, the integrity of my stopper seemed to have been damaged. As I further examined the bttl, there were tiny rubber pieces floating around in my preparation!
Has this ever happened to anyone?
I suppose that using a 20G for drawing would be fine for a 10ml bttl, since you won't be punching through the top that often. But, for all 100ml bttls, I have switched to drawing with a 23 or 25G.

TweetGood info bro, it makes sense to me. I never realized it.
Some are blessed with good genetics, most are blessed with good dealers!!!!
TweetI am sure going to miss the fast drawing performance of 20g pinz.
Tweetim useing 18g so far no prob.
TweetI've used at 20g before but I prefer a 22. But I can see how it would damage the rubber stopper if the bottle was more than 10ml.

I always just draw with the pin I am going to be using. Usually a 23g.
Motogear, realize that the top of the stopper is not sterile and it will also dull your needle. I can understand guys dealing with the dull needle thing but I would recommend switching just for sterility reasons. I dont want to see you get an absess or anything for that matter.

It seems to me that the top of your vial IS sterile after you wipe it with an alcohol pad immediately BEFORE drawing.....
TweetMotogear..............why don't you save the pin you draw with and then change the pin....that way you have a nice new sharp sterile pin to use............just keep the drawing pin onhand.......makes sense doesn't it?
Ask yourself....why exist if you can't be the best? What is YOUR answer?
TweetI draw with 18ga and yes I seen a few little pieces of rubber floating around from it, never had a problem though.
Drawing with 23ga+ would take forever!
and yes after 10 or so pulls the rubber on the syringe will loose seal after a while especially if Teurmo's I noticed.
TweetDon't poke in the same place when you're drawing. It will help keep the stopper from getting it's ass kicked.
