I edited your last post instead of quoting it.. my bad.
A very famous (now deceased) criminal defense lawyer in our town did business where I work a few years ago and was very pleased with our service. He told me that if I ever killed someone, stay there and call him and he would come there and show me what to do to get away with it. He said he couldn't help, but he could advise. I laughed thinking he was kidding, he assured me he was not. He gave me his card and left, I threw it away.

No matter how much they go back and forth in the court rooms, all of them meet up together at the end of the day, and at lawyer only parties. Occasionally a judge or 2 will roll up to those gatherings. But that's how they all get out of trouble if they ever step in it. Build relationships which they use and abuse later down the road when needed. everyone of themowes somebody something. Lots of two-faced people, with only 1 thing on their mind, well maybe 2. Those being money, and themselves.

I have family in the business, even owns his own firm. Trust me, I see my cousin get out of all kind of run ins with the law. All kinds, and all because they know her dad...

^^^What Ezskanken said! I have attorney's in the family and they have told me how tight they are with the probation department, judge, and lead prosecutors! I am taking my LSATs to become one of the, hopefully, 1% that are not douchebags! But most lawyers will admit they are fu*king scumbags...

PS- Had all charges dropped, but it was a very simple case

Q: Why to lawyers wear neckties?
A: To keep the foreskin from crawling up their chins.

Q: What do you call 25 attorneys buried up to their chins in cement?
      A: Not enough cement.
Hey I resent that...a lot of attorneys are Jews...no foreskin
      But theyre slimy too.

lol, great thread. I'll play devil's advocates here. I'm sure a small percentage have actually dedicated their careers to making sure people are treated fairly in the court system and actually stick to that commitment. I sure as hell know that if I'm ever in trouble for something, I'm calling up the most sneakiest, manipulating lawyer i can find to defend me.

      • Americans say that lawyers are
      greedy, manipulative, and corrupt.
      Personal experiences with lawyers
substantiate these beliefs. Consumers tell stories of lawyers who
      misrepresent their qualifications,
      overpromise, are not upfront about
their fees, charge too much for their
services, take too long to resolve
matters, and fail to return client
      phone calls.
      • Americans are also uncomfortable
      with the connections that lawyers
      have with politics, the judiciary,
      government, big business, and law
      enforcement. These connections
      imbue lawyers with a certain
degree of power in society. Americans believe that the central place
of lawyers in society enables them
not only to play the system, but
also to shape that very system.
      • Americans also believe that lawyers do a poor job of policing
      themselves. Bar associations are
not viewed as protectors of the
public or the public interest, but as
      clubs to protect lawyers.

There is good reason that politicians are former lawyers imo, they are professional liars that know how to manipulate the system and convince others of what is not true. But the lawyers who cross over to politics successfully are typically narcissists that seek ultimate power and control over others. There is a professor of psychology that studied the mind of those who become politicians and developed a chart with the different behaviors they share. I will try to find it and post it if and when I do. But one thing is for sure with all politicians whether they were formerly lawyers or not, and that's that they all seek power with the exception of a very small number (less than 10 in history if I had to put a number to it). And once they get into positions of power a famous quote by Lord Acton is pretty darn accurate - "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington

I do not condone the use of, nor do I use anabolic or androgenic steroids. My participation on these boards is for informational purposes only. I have done extensive research of AAS and enjoy discussing them for role playing enjoyment.

Awesome. Great post. Very interesting. You can she these people have an almost intoxicated attitude the more power and worship they get. Surrounded by sycophants who bow to their every wish. That chart would be interesting to see.

Attorneys take on criminals who they know are guilty, But lie and obstruct justice to get their clients off. Winning is more of a game, with a score, one attorney going up against another. They then gain prestige with all the cases they have won then they get the big money cases thatreally make them rich. Its not really a search for the truth with peoples lives at stake, but a strategy to beat the other attorney, kind of like sport. You have prosecuting attorneys go after people who they know are innocent, but they have to win each case at all costs so they look good and can brag at the attorney parties.
