Tweetthey prescribe it too easily. Some people need them others dont. just like pain meds. just like radiation therapy.
TweetWow, this is nuts. The increased suicide rate is associated with the massive increase in anti depressant drugs like prozac which have been scientifically proven to cause suicidal/homicidal thoughts. Every suicide Ive seen in the last 10 years was someone who was on prescription depression medication. That shit makes people want to off themselves

Tweeti can't believe the govt has put this much pressure on doctors not to prescribe pain meds. but they can dole out antidepressants with horrific side effects like increased risk of suicide and everything else the pharma companies put on tv to ask your dr for. i just went through this last week. had gout flare up so bad in my foot that i was literally rolling back and forth in bed crying from the pain. i asked my doc for something for the pain and she said oh well the anti-inflammatory we use for gout is indomethycin, i'll call that in for you. i ended up digging in my drawer and luckily had one dilaudid left from my shoulder surgery in september and took that along with some sleepy time tea to be able to dull the pain and go to sleep. i think they have the whole opioids lead to heroin thing ass backwards. my old dr knew the pain i would go through competing in martial arts and my day job and would prescribe vicodin at 7.5 mgs for 90 tabs with 3 refills for the year. at the end of the year i hadn't refilled the script but when i tore my calf and jacked my back up at work i had pain meds on hand for just that reason. you take a person who is in that kind of pain and has a doctor who is too scared of the DEA to write you a script for pain meds THAT is when you're gonna have people looking for anything to handle the pain. yes there are people who play the system and use their meds to sell to junkies but the govt is far too involved in the business of medicine. and as far as the antidepressant epidemic, back in the mid 90's when big pharma was doling out kick backs to dr's for writing scripts for prozac, my wife went to four different doctors to try and figure out why she kept having painful migraines (years later we found out it was Stargardt's disease and now she's legally blind) every doctor she saw wrote her a script for prozac. i actually called one of them and said dude, why are you giving my wife prozac for migraines when the first side effect listed is migraine headaches, wtf? needless to say she was not depressed or suicidal until she took the prozac against my advice and finally threw them away.
TweetMy ex gf was the same way, she would go from one emotion to another at extremes ! Jus sweet and loving one minute then jus f'ing berserk mad as hell the next. I was actually sleeping with my .45 the last few weeks she lived with me. Jeckel and Hyde scary s#it !!! Brakes my heart to this day still. Seems like just about everybody has some kind of Bi-Polar/ Depression s#it going on with them. My dad drank and beat the hell outta me and my mom, I was bullied all through school, we where broke, I lost a lot of people close to me, lonely, depressed, all that and I'm not on some f#cked up medication ! I don't think about doing a mass shooting or have confusion over my gender ! It just really pisses me off to hell when I hear people whine about stuff like that. Who the f#ck hasn't had a rough childhood or is going through tough times. Cyber bulling ? I lived in a all black and Hispanic neighborhood in Texas and walked the gauntlet to school every morning and afternoon. Everything is just too damn convenient nowadays, just ask your phone or talk to a lil box and everything is done for you now. People need to learn to grow some Bollocks and deal with life already !

Tweetbut if i walk into the same doc office and my spine is sticking out of my back ... tylenol.
TweetI absolutely could not agree more with this. ive seen it happen as i am sure almost everyone has. someone gets cut off from pain therapy because a few docs and patients abusing the system so they take the risk and turn to street drugs that have god only knows what in them.
TweetGoing thru emotional pain and working thru it is one of the greatest stepping stones to better things. We grow most thru pain. Unfortunately, we live in a society that believes if something is upsetting you, you should be on some kind of prescription drug so you can avoid having to deal with it. Part of the sissification of America
TweetActually, when I was first going through my hiv thing my Doc got me on Xanax and Paxil. It made me feel "Blank", like I didn't have any emotion. I was on that for maby three weeks and threw'em away. I shouldn't have gone off on that last post, I know we're not all alike. I've been hurtin' for a longtime but I guess I just deal with it. I try to just keep my mind busy doing things like Kempo, working out, and jus keep being hopeful about things ya know ?
