everything i read about it is good. i have shot the compact version and loved it but for under $550 there are lots of great full sized pistols.

Never fired one myself, but hear they're nice. My favorite would be the M&P or the Glock. I like the Glock because it has a lifetime warranty. The M&P is lightweight, and it's a Smith and Wesson.

CZ makes great guns from what I've heard and I may buy one eventually myself. As for me, I'm a h&k and springfield fan. I don't like Glocks but I know they are good, just not for me. Tomorrow I am going back to the gun store and purchasing the FNH 9mm fnx, or I might order it in the. 45. I'll let you know how that turns out, been wanting one for a while. They are in the price range you seek and are great guns from everything I've heard. I have shot the fn 5.7 and it was awesome, but I love the look and feel of the fnx. I would however recommend you consider a Springfield xdm. I own the 9mm and can't say enough good things about it. There are plenty of great guns in that price range though so grab one and let us know how it shoots.

Glock Baretta - tell me more about this other

i was going to get a 1911 but it would take all of my $$$ and i want new optics on my AR15.

i was doing some research and found a 1911 guy who had an experience and that diverted my research from 1911 to the CZ
