Thumbs up does gear have long lasting mental health effects?

i believe gear will in some cases cause depression when not used as i cant come off or i get severe mental depression. but long lasting, yes but i think you return to normal in 2-5 yrs w/ no gear at all. ive been on gear ed for 21 yrs. any other thoughts?

It has got to affect things. Hormones play a huge role in us and I really believe as people age, it is the decline in hormones that cause many of their problems. So if you supplement and then go off, I would think one would experience some mental effects, and physical, as well.

Question Re: does gear have long lasting mental health effects?

I wish to ask for those already with issues of health from mental disorders being eitjer beginning or intermediate usage of gear. is a suggestion that you never touch it? quit immediately?

1 suggested to me a "gym rat " that those that take gear are suicidal; with that in conclusion
is it in thought that those that take gear are with mental disorders? regardless, I don't wish to touch, this conclusion of his and leave him to the wind.

is the question unclem that you posed for this topic directed towards men or is it both men and women ?

I would think that if you were on gear for that long you would have mental effects for sure. I am sure even if you ran a 16 week cycle you would feel the effects of coming off, all the exogenous hormones your body hasn't felt has to play a huge factor in it. I can't even tell if gear changed my mental state really, its been awhile and I have forgotten how it feels. I would assume you if have a mental disorder like asked in the question above gear could be a good thing or it could be bad, I don't think it would make you necessarily suicidal, sometimes a mental disorder is a hormonal deficiency, its better than having a mental disorder and using other drugs for sure though. Only you truly know if they better you or not. Everyone is in a different boat.

This is a good thread Unclem. Something we should all be talking about.
Been doing HRT for about 18 years. Havent had any problems with anything and my blood work has been good. I had low HDL, but everything else was good.
Ive been off everything for about a little over a month and just today took 2 gms.
I was feeling ok being off, but needed to get back on. I think I will notice results soon.
How soon to you feel the gear taking effect in your general feeling of well being?

Too feel the general feeling of well being depends on the ester, it can all be a mental thing also, probably to really feel it, depening on the ester 2-7 weeks, I would say, also take into account, your probably subconsciously eating better and exercising in some way.

a week or so give or take. i hear ya about getting back on. the feeling you feel suck. if your ok w/ kids and married i would bridge and blast the **** out of gear for 12 weeks to 6 months then bridge 6-8 weeks sooner if down feelings hit . get a statin and lovaza for your low hdl thats a problem with the cholesterol.

i know only speaking for me i get bummed, wouldn't say depressed per se, but definitely bummed when the weights i put up while on start creeping down some post cycle. i've been on for two years straight with only switching gear from one season to another such as tren/prop/winny for summer to cyp only for winter but no real issues mental health wise. if gear was going to be the cause solely for depression in men i'd be phuqed after the shit that happened over the last three years. some depression from that but as uncle mentioned, i get a more positive upbeat outlook while on a good cycle. never pushed up to 3g a week but just shy 0f 1g and had zero issues and certainly NO rage issues. even speaking about it with my therapist she was surpised at the calmness and peaceful outlook knowing i was on and she's becoming educated to the real science of aas and how bad the mainstream media demonizes aas users.
great topic bro
